The Mgr Network Technology is responsible to lead the design, implementation, and management of our enterprise network systems, including LAN, WAN, SDN, and Operational Technology (OT) networks across all affiliates. Responsible for overseeing Cisco network technologies, ensuring network security and compliance, optimizing licensing and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain seamless connectivity and operational efficiency.  Use strong leadership capabilities to manage a high-performing IT Network team, oversee budget and vendor relationships, and drive operational excellence through process optimization and automation. With a data-driven mindset, this individual will monitor KPIs, enforce network policies, and continuously improve infrastructure performance to support the organization’s evolving technology needs. 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. Implement, and manage the organization’s network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, SDN, and OT networks, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.
  2. Oversee the deployment and maintenance of Cisco network technologies, ensuring secure and efficient operations through proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.
  3. Lead and develop the Technology Network team, including recruitment, training, performance management, and fostering a high-performance culture.
  4. Utilize data and metrics to guide decision-making, track KPIs, review SLAs, and continuously improve network performance and project outcomes.
  5. Ensure network security and compliance by developing and enforcing policies, procedures, and standards aligned with industry regulations.
  6. Manage the Technology Network budget and vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effective solutions and successful contract negotiations.
  7. Drive operational excellence by creating and optimizing processes, procedures, and automation to improve efficiency and service delivery.

 

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Required:     Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
                   In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an additional 4 years  of experience may be considered.

 

Experience:
Required:     8 years of experience in network management, with a focus on Cisco technologies, WAN, and SDN.  
Preferred:    Experience in managing Data Centers/Architecture and OT and experience in the utility industry or similar environments.

 

Supervisory Experience:
Required:     3 years supervisory experience.

 

Licenses/Certifications
Preferred:    Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE are highly desirable.

Required:

  • Strong network management and operations skills.
  • Requires overall awareness of cloud and compute and storage environments, the industry, vendor management, operations management and ITIL.
  • Possesses business and technical acumen and the ability to influence customers, team members, and management.

  • 24X7 responsibility to maintain operation of critical assets. Deadlines, compliance, pressure from the business is likely.

  • Frequent periods standing or sitting in the same location. Occasionally required to stoop or lift light material or equipment.
