Storm Duty Requirements

Tampa Electric and its sister companies serve a role in providing critical services to our community during an emergency. Team members are required to participate in the response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to our Tampa Electric customers. Team members are required to work in their normal job duties or other assigned activities. Proper compensation will be made in accordance with the company's rules and procedures.

TITLE:   Sr Audio Visual Network Analyst, KVM & VoIP Focus

POSITION CONCEPT

The Audio Visual and Network Analyst Sr is responsible for planning, engineering, and coordination of Voice, Audio Visual (AV) related systems and subsystems including Cisco Collaboration systems, Video board systems, Keyboard, Video and Mouse (KVM) control systems and Conference room technology.  Primary responsibility for the Energy Supply and Energy Delivery areas, including power plants and BOC Control rooms. Serve as the designer of Cabling systems (premise distribution systems cabling infrastructure and campus fiber backbone design). 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

1.    Leads the planning, design and implementation of Tampa Electric’s Voice, AV, and cabling.  Make modifications of existing systems when necessary. 30%

2.    Leads complex projects providing integrated system planning and proposed budgeting (e.g. develop and maintain annual and 5-year work plans, develop cost/benefit analysis for proposed projects, prepare PSA’s, etc.). 20%

3.    Analyzes performance of the Voice, AV and Cabling systems. Makes recommendations for improvement or redesign and leads implementation as needed. 20%

4.    Recommend, analyze and evaluate emerging technologies to determine fit. Develop business objectives to integrate emerging technologies into existing technical architecture. 10%    

5.    Interfaces with business units regarding Voice, AV and Cabling systems and implementation and service requests. 10%

6.    Mentor others in department by preparing training, documentation, standards and procedures and presentations 10%

 

SUPERVISION
Direct Supervision:    None

Indirect Supervision:         Contracted resources and companies. 

 

RELATIONSHIPS
Key Internal:        Interacts with all levels of team members throughout and a high degree of interaction with all Information Technology departments.
Key External:        Frequent contact with telecommunications vendors and contractors concerning products and services that they provide.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education 
Required:    Bachelor’s degree in in Telecommunications, Computer Sciences related or Engineering. 

 

Licenses/Certifications

Preferred:    Cisco Collaboration certifications and BICSI RCDD.

 

Direct Experience
Required:    6 years of direct work experience performing the Duties & Responsibilities of this position or related work. 

In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an additional 4 years of experience may be considered.

Preferred:     Direct work experience with Cisco CUCM, BICSI Cabling standards, Barco Video walls and Cisco Video conferencing.
    

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA)
Required:    In-depth knowledge and ability to configure, support and administer Voice, AV and Cabling systems. Ability to create technical documentation of systems and technical drawings.

Preferred:    In-depth knowledge and ability to configure, support and administer Cisco CUCM, Cisco Video Conferencing, BICSI Cabling standards, Barco Video walls, and KVM systems.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS 
Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required; and “on call” as needed for 24/7/365 system outages and emergency preparedness.  Requires some travel.
