Storm Duty Requirements

Tampa Electric and its sister companies serve a role in providing critical services to our community during an emergency. Team members are required to participate in the response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to our Tampa Electric customers. Team members are required to work in their normal job duties or other assigned activities. Proper compensation will be made in accordance with the company's rules and procedures.

Responding to storms will be considered a condition of employment.

Position Summary/Details:

The Property Accounting Student will assist in the preparation, maintenance and monitoring of activities related to property, plant and equipment for Tampa Electric. These activities could include project analysis, reconciliation, unitization, and closure of Capital work orders, AFUDC and depreciation reporting, net book value analysis and other ad-hoc information requests.

 

Accountabilities: As a successful candidate for our position, you would:

  • Review and analyze CWIP work orders to manager in-service dates of Company assets
  • Complete the unitization of work orders to appropriately functionalize assets into their appropriate depreciation accounts
  • Calculate, analyze and report on monthly AFUDC and depreciation
  • Assist in completing monthly closeout activities

 

Physical Location of Co-op: Midtown East Tower 3600 Midtown Drive Tampa, FL 33607 

Working Conditions: Mostly in a normal office environment

Preferred Availability: Part – Time (20-30 hours)

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:  

The successful applicant should be enrolled in an accredited university as a college undergraduate or a graduate level post-secondary educational program in a related discipline.

Co-Op Requirements:

To qualify as a co-op student, enrollment in the university’s co-op program (proof of enrollment required); if not eligible for co-op program (or program unavailable), the student will be considered an intern.
