The Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist will build strong relationships with business leaders and community partners to develop effective sourcing strategies to identify and attract high caliber talent. The Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist will be responsible for providing consultative TA services to the business and a high level of support while managing the full-cycle recruitment process for assigned business areas and leading/supporting talent acquisition initiatives.  This individual’s sourcing efforts will have an immediate impact to the company’s continued success and help strengthen Tampa Electric’s employer brand.  As a brand ambassador, the Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist will also build and nurture relationships with prospective candidates, post-secondary institutions, and industry partners to position Tampa Electric as an employer of choice.

Accountabilities:

  • Serve as an expert advisor and partner with assigned business leaders to identify and develop sustainable talent acquisition strategies.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to ensure a thorough understanding of the position requirements and expectations.
  • Build and deliver excellence in each stage of the talent acquisition process including sourcing, employer brand, candidate engagement and experience, screening, selection and hiring.
  • Provide consistent follow up with internal management and candidates through open and honest communication to ensure timeliness of the recruitment process ensuring solid lines of communication are established and maintained.
  • Develop and implement aggressive recruitment strategies for hard to fill positions.
  • Build and maintain a network of warm and diverse candidates through proactive sourcing and on-going relationship management and anticipate the needs of the business.
  • Screen resumes and interview candidates to determine their fit for the position and organization.
  • Consult with hiring leaders to understand hiring needs and requirements.
  • Assist with the development, improvement and roll out of recruitment strategies and talent acquisition activities and systems.
  • Assist in the development of automating processes and systems to eliminate or reduce manual processes and tasks.
  • Identify and develop relationships with relevant industry leaders, consultants, vendors, and partners.
  • Participate in networking events, attend job fairs and off-site recruitment programs to obtain a strong pool of candidates and to effectively meet hiring needs.
  • Assist with producing presentations and materials as required and prepare reports and metrics as required.
  • Stay abreast of relevant talent acquisition market research and trends.
  • Manage applicant tracking requirements and related documentation.
  • Act as a mentor to team members.

Skills, Capabilities and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in full lifecycle Talent Acquisition as a recruiter, preferably in a senior or lead role, with a strong emphasis on successful proactive sourcing experience.
  • 5+ years of experience managing the full TA process for hard-to-fill roles (such as IT, Engineering, Leadership positions) with the ability to support a variety of functions.  Includes expertise in developing recruitment and sourcing strategies, developing and negotiating offers, and working with all levels of organizational leadership.
  • 5+ years of experience leading and or supporting TA acquisition projects and initiatives (such as process improvement, candidate experience, employment brand, etc.) with the ability to develop TA metrics and insights
  • Solid business and financial acumen; clear understanding of how talent acquisition contributes to business results
  • In-depth knowledge of talent acquisition best practices and techniques
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple recruiting projects simultaneously
  • High level of initiative and proactive in nature
  • Results oriented with a strong sense of urgency
  • Strong project management, negotiation, and organization skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with managers, partners, and emerging talent
  • Understands external employment market trends
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound candidate engagement approach with ability to engage passive candidates
  • A power user of all social media
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and agility to multi-task and prioritize
