Storm Duty Requirements

Tampa Electric and its sister companies serve a role in providing critical services to our community during an emergency. Team members are required to participate in the response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to our Tampa Electric customers. Team members are required to work in their normal job duties or other assigned activities. Proper compensation will be made in accordance with the company's rules and procedures.

Responding to storms will be considered a condition of employment.

TITLE:   Portfolio Enterprise Architect, Domain Focus
PERFORMANCE COACH:   Manager Enterprise Architecture

POSITION CONCEPT 
The Portfolio Domain Architect bridges the gap between the business strategy and execution.  Helps set the technology strategy, principles and standards and owes the Reference Architecture for the Domain Area.   Collaborates with Solution, Integration and Data Architects to bring each perspective together and maintain the current and future technology landscape of the portfolio.  

 

FOCUS AREAS
•    Develop and maintain the Business Capability Model for the Portfolio and mapping to supporting applications
•    Maintain Centralized Application portfolio (lifecycle, rationalization, risk) in collaboration with the application teams
•    Drive tech strategy and execution across portfolios, collaborate with business to manage demands and influence priorities
•    Collaborate with business partners and Technology teams in the ideation, and evaluation of technologies to best fit the needs.  
•    Collaborate with the Technology Portfolio teams to prepare on the technical aspects for the project start. 


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
1.    Helps set Architecture Principles and Standards (in collaboration with Enterprise Architects) and definite Architectural components for the portfolio.  Drive tech strategy and execution across portfolio to facilitate technology roadmap decisions.   30%
2.    Responsible for owning target state architecture and roadmap" working with Domain Architects, Solution Architects and Tech Leads. 25%
3.    Collaborate with the information, application, technology and solution architects to translate the business architecture blueprint into application, information, data, and technology architecture. 15%
4.    Determine eligibility of solutions for architecture review based on certain criteria.  Define technical solutions to business needs in alignment with reference architectures.  10%
5.    Analyze current and future business architecture for compatibility with TECO’s EA vision and standards 10%
6.    Provide appropriate guidance and leadership to help maintain the quality of solutions 10%

QUALIFICATIONS
Education         
Required:     Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other computer-related disciplines.
Preferred:     Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other computer-related disciplines.

 

Licenses/Certifications
Required:        At least one professional certification in specific job-related disciplines 

 

Experience 
Required:    7 years of progressive responsibility within information systems or information management/analysis environment and 5 years with complex projects. Experience developing technical proposals that meet business partner requirements and align with IT’s service portfolio

 

Preferred:    Gas or Electric utility industry.  Experience working in large public or private sector organizations.  Previous experience as an IT Architect or similar role. 

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA) 
Required:    Demonstrate that can develop and apply expertise to help solve complex technical problems and ensure optimal architecture solutions are implemented at a domain level, while maintaining alignment within the needs of both the business and IT strategies.  Knowledge of the architectural components that may impact the domain (Data, Interface, Application, Infrastructure) to develop cohesive architectures and impact assessments. Demonstrated ability to build strategic working partnerships at all levels. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

 

Preferred:    Demonstrated knowledge of Electric Grid Solutions such as ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management System), EMS (Energy Management System), AMI/MDM (Advanced Metering Infrastructure/Meter Data Management), Intergraph GIS (Geographical Information System). Ability to assess emerging business & regulatory changes and articulate the positive impacts.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS 
Normal working conditions with occasional weekend and overtime requirements, including on-call rotational support.
