POSITION CONCEPT:
The MGR Renewable Energy Projects provides leadership, direction, and technical support for various TEC renewable energy project activities. Monitors, develops, evaluates, and implements procedures as they apply to the existing or proposed facilities. Focuses on identifying and implementing strategic positioning, considering future company direction, economic impacts, and changing technology, etc. Interacts with other company departments, environmental agencies, corporate communications, external public groups, consultants, and legal resources.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide direct technical guidance and strategic focused leadership on renewable energy activities.
- Coordinate activities of team and other departments to accomplish goals for renewable energy projects.
- Identify, develop, and provide guidance and training to appropriate Project Managers and technical team members.
- Develop, review, and interpret technical requirements for renewable energy projects. Develop and prepare studies and reports associated with renewable energy projects.
- Develop, direct and supervise the activities of renewable energy consultants and attorneys.
- Prepare budgets and strategic focused evaluation of long term and short-term renewable energy project needs. Develop and monitor budget reports for special projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an additional 2 years of experience with an Associate’s degree or an additional 4 years with a High school Diploma may be considered.
Licenses/Certifications:
Preferred: Professional engineering license.
Experience:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree- 8 years of experience in the industrial, chemical or power plant industry focused on scheduling, budgeting, cost control and contract claims negotiations.
Associate's Degree- 10 years of experience in the industrial, chemical or power plant industry focused on scheduling, budgeting, cost control and contract claims negotiations.
High School Diploma- 12 years of experience in the industrial, chemical or power plant industry focused on scheduling, budgeting, cost control and contract claims negotiations.
Supervisory Experience:
Required: 3 years supervisory, leadership or project lead experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Required: Proven ability to plan, organize or analyze a project from beginning to end. Ability to communicate and work effectively with internal and external parties. Ability to write accurate reports using clear and concise language; utility industry knowledge.
Preferred: Skilled in identifying the readiness of a project team and able to refocus/retrain or re-staff as needed. Knowledge of corporate organization and relationships; familiar with safety and security of team members and the business.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Includes occasional walk through of construction sites. Frequent driving to solar facilities. Must have ability to obtain a passport and travel by air as needed.
