This is a VARIES position for an EXPERIENCED Journey level Power Line Worker or Troubleshooter and requires Journey level line experience with a Journey Certificate. Please contact Doug if you have any questions at dwmcdonald@tecoenergy.com

 

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

WORK CONDITIONS

  • May be required to travel inside and outside of the service area.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule as per current requirements.
  • Ability to work on energized systems and response to emergency callouts is required.
  • Ability to make successful decisions in high stress situations.

 
PHYSICAL
Successful candidate must successfully complete the Physical Worker Medical Exam for Energy Delivery
 
POSITION CONCEPT
Must perform all duties following the safe work practices and procedures set forth in the Company Policies.  
 
 
Lineworker
Performs all aspects of constructing and maintaining Tampa Electric’s overhead and underground transmission and distribution system including switching and troubleshooting and operation of equipment and vehicles. Work on energized systems and response to emergency overtime is required.
 
 
EDUCATION, LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Required:
          ●     Valid high school diploma or valid GED
          ●     Journeyman Lineman certificate.
          ●     List of Apprentice Lineman curriculum if requested or DOL certificate.
          ●     Commercial Driver License Class A will be required prior to the start date.
 
 
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
*The below experience does not include apprentice line experience.

Lineworker
Required:
- Six (6) months of Lineworker experience*.
- This position requires mechanical aptitude.
- Must comply with company policies and follow safe work practices.

Preferred:
Three (3) years of Lineworker experience*.
