Title: Project Coordinator |
POSITION CONCEPT:
Manage Engineering and Construction Projects in the Energy Supply organization. Lead project teams as the single point of accountability for all aspects of project execution. The project coordinator is also responsible for all phases of planning and executing projects to meet the goals of the company with respect to schedule, financial, and operating performance. The duties include conflict resolution between the company and the engineering, construction, equipment, and material providers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for overall project management of moderate capital improvements projects ensuring compliance with Company and Industry standards.
- Ensure project business cases are well developed and understood. This includes, as necessary, development of varying solutions or scope options for comparison, economic analysis, and development of non-economic project justification
- Develop & define plans, scope of work, drawings, cost estimates, material lists & detailed schedules for all projects. Analyze manpower and schedule requirements to coordinate all contract and, if required, internal company, personnel to successfully complete projects.
- Responsible for establishing project budget estimates, including both internal and external resources, for all projects, and assist with monitoring and approving invoices from third party suppliers and service providers. Provide overall project financial reporting and forecasting of assigned projects.
- Lead and coordinate the activities of contract personnel, vendors, and manufacturing representatives to meet planned deliverables.
- Interface with internal company groups as required (e.g. Environmental Health & Safety, Asset Management, and Procurement.)
- Coordinate final project close-outs to include quality control, actual to budget accounting, deliverables and as-builts.
- Manage project communications. Identify project stakeholders and keep them well informed; effectively facilitate regular project team meetings; deliver engaging, informative, well-organized presentations; resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion; and understand how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully. Ensure accurate project status reporting. Provide updates on cost, schedule, status, and critical items which may materially affect project performance or department or company operations. Present project status to management and key stakeholders on a regular basis.
EDUCATION:
Required: High school Diploma or GED
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction management or related field.
LICENSES/CERTICATIONS:
Preferred: PMP or other Project Management certification
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Minimum of (6) six years’ experience of project management, contract administration, cost estimating, planning, and construction.
Preferred: (10) ten years’ experience of project management, contract administration, cost estimating, planning, and construction.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Required: Ability to lead and motivate team members. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Solid understanding of power plant or industrial process operations
Preferred: Working knowledge of work management systems, project management, scheduling, and cost control systems
