The TECO Energy Internship & Cooperative Education Program offers college degree-seeking students the opportunity for professional growth while meeting the business needs of the company. The program is an extension of the educational process, providing practical experience to complement formal classroom work. The co-op program recruits students from colleges to give them an opportunity to work in a professional environment related to their field of study.


Polk Power Station Electrical Engineering


Accountabilities: As a successful candidate for our Co-Op Position, you would:

  • Assist the station electrical engineer with drawing updates and equipment labeling
  • Support station electrical engineer with site inspections for job status reports
  • Maintain and/or create electronic databases for station support
  • Assist station electrical engineer with equipment troubleshooting


Position Requirements:

  • The successful applicant should be enrolled in an ABET accredited university or college undergraduate or a graduate level post-secondary educational program in a related discipline.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required.
  • To qualify as a co-op student, enrollment in the university’s co-op program is a must.

Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:

  • Electrical Engineering - with focus in power systems
  • Previous Industrial experience, preferred




Plant/Field and Office environment.  Must be willing and able to work in dusty, hot and noisy environments
