Storm Duty Requirements

Tampa Electric and its sister companies serve a role in providing critical services to our community during an emergency. Team members are required to participate in the response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to our Tampa Electric customers. Team members are required to work in their normal job duties or other assigned activities. Proper compensation will be made in accordance with the company's rules and procedures.

TITLE:    Reliability Analyst
PERFORMANCE COACH:     Manager, Asset Management Distribution

POSITION CONCEPT 
The Reliability Analyst develops and utilizes data analytics, data science, and visualization solutions to evaluate electric grid performance . The Reliability Analyst will work closely with other organizational areas (Technology, Data, AMI, Operations, Maintenance and others) through Agile Scrum development teams and ensure that new and updated analytics answer prioritized business questions.  The Reliability Analyst will support the execution of new projects, new processes and systems supporting monitoring of the performance of the electric grid and Asset Management program.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
1.    Maintain and operate existing data analytics solutions. 20%
2.    Develop new and improve existing analytics solutions for monitoring the performance of the electric grid. 20%
3.    Research and support the development and implementation of new analytics, data science applications and artificial intelligence solutions. 20%
4.    Support other departments in the development of new projects, new processes and systems requiring analytics support for reliability or performance of the electric grid.  20%
5.    Support Asset Management programs, projects, and initiatives for both new and existing facilities related to Data Science and Artificial Intelligence solutions. 20%

 

SUPERVISION 
Direct Supervision:    None

 

QUALIFICATIONS
Education         
Required:    Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Information Technology, Analytics or other related field.

 

Experience 
Required:    1 year related work experience in analytics, compliance or other related business experience.
Preferred:    Experience in a utility sector. 
2+ years utility regulatory experience and may include maintenance, engineering or other work related to power generation.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA) 
Required:    Ability to be self-directed with minimal supervision, ability to quickly develop working knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards and interpret and implement the associated technical standards.  Knowledge of and proficiency of MS Office including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.    Ability to demonstrate effective Project Management & Organizational skills. Ability to demonstrate professional communication and presentation skills.
Preferred:    Knowledge of and the ability to develop proficiency in computer software including various IT Systems, Multimedia and Analytical tools, i.e. PowerBI, ERP Work Management Systems, etc. 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal working conditions with 100% onsite presence at one of TEC’s facilities as this role supports Energy Supply Operations with occasional in-field work at various power plants and solar facilities.  Considering this position supports 24/7 Operations, occasional after hours may be required. Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment for site visits, etc.
