Team members are required to participate in the response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to our Tampa Electric customers. Team members are required to work in their normal job duties or other assigned activities. Proper compensation will be made in accordance with the company's rules and procedures.

Position Summary/Details:

The Social Services Student performs a wide variety of administrative and supportive tasks. This position also supports the social service functions including Medical Watch (customers on medically essential equipment); the Share Program (in-house donation program to assist customers in need) and the Senior Care Program (income-eligible assistance program for Seniors).

 

Accountabilities:

  • Process Medical Watch Re-Certification Requests
  • Monitor Medical Watch and Customer Assistance Voice Mailboxes
  • Monitor and process Promise to Pay requests from Social Service Agencies via Right Fax
  • Medical Watch Tracking – track all incoming and outgoing Medical Watch requests
  • Returned Mail – review and document applicable accounts
  • Assist with answering calls from the Agency Queue
  • Support Customer Assistance Advisors with Special Projects
  • Support with off-site Outreach activities as needed

 

Location of Position: Brandon, FL.

Working Conditions: Mostly in a normal office environment, a successful candidate may be asked to participate in Outreach activities.

Preferred Availability: Part – Time (30 – 40 hours)

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: 

The successful applicant should be enrolled in an accredited university as a college undergraduate or a graduate level post-secondary educational program in a related discipline for the first semester the student joins the program.

Co-Op Requirements:

To qualify as a co-op student, enrollment in the university’s co-op program (proof of enrollment required); if not eligible for co-op program (or program unavailable), the student will be considered an intern.

 

Currently pursuing any of the below Degrees:

  • Social Work
  • Psychology
  • Public Administration & Policy
  • Business Administration
  • Finance

 

Preferred Discipline: Social Work

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Microsoft Suite – intermediate to advanced (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TEAMs)
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to act in a professional and considerate manner with the ability to honor and maintain confidentiality.
  • Be able to express empathy, interest and caring and have great listening skills and be able to use appropriate tone and pitch to create sincerity.
