POSITION CONCEPT: 
Works with supervision/guidance; receives specific and detailed instructions as to required tasks and results expected; performs a variety of routine tasks which should provide experience and familiarity with the Project Management staff, methods, practices, procedures and programs of the Company; usually assumes no responsibility for direction of others.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, manage, revise, and update integrated detailed project Primavera (P6) schedules, covering all phases of project execution across multiple projects. Maintain and update schedules as needed to ensure data integrity.
  • Revise and maintain the status of detailed project cost estimates and forecasts, encompassing engineering, plant projects, equipment procurement and deliveries, construction contracts, and startup activities.
  • Generate forecasts of total project costs, annual costs, and monthly cash flow projections, providing variance analysis and explanations.
  • Track and analyze project costs, including budgets, commitments, actuals, accruals, and forecasts, performing variance and risk analysis.
  • Assist in forecasting engineering and construction resource requirements, identifying long-lead items, resource constraints, and required project start dates.
  • Collaborate with TEC procurement to manage cost codes, purchase order commitments, change orders, and tax-related issues. Coordinate with Accounting, Regulatory, Legal, and Risk Management to ensure compliance.
  • Support bid review processes by analyzing project control requirements to ensure all cost control aspects are incorporated into contracts and purchase orders.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements in project controls, tools, and methodologies.


EDUCATION

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred: Bachelors Degree in a related field.

 

EXPERIENCE:
Required: 3 years work experience in the Duties & Responsibilities of the position.

Preferred: Experience with engineering and construction project controls is preferred


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: 

Required: Cost management, scheduling, project planning and estimating skills, as well as the communication skills necessary to interface with external engineering, architectural and construction firms, suppliers, the TEC Project Management team and other organizations within TECO Energy; Demonstrated ability with Excel and Access
Preferred: Budget, cash flow, TECO accounting and project control systems, Primavera P6 (strongly recommended)
