Title: Regulatory Accounting Analyst

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Regulatory Accounting Analyst is responsible for regulatory accounting and reporting functions, including, but not limited to journal entries, account reconciliations, regulatory reporting, budget and forecasting, audit requests, account analysis and special projects as needed.

 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries
  • Reconcile and maintain general ledger accounts
  • Prepare reports filed with regulatory agencies including the EIA and FPSC
  • Contribute to department month-end closeout responsibilities 
  • Prepare account analysis and research account variances
  • Contribute to the preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Assist with ad hoc reporting and special projects
  • Assist with the preparation of data requests during rate cases and audits

 

What We’re Looking For

Must Haves:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from a regionally accredited university or college
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or financial-related field will be accepted in lieu of the bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • No financial work experience is required, but it is preferred
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Self-motivated
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Organized 

 

Nice-to-Haves:

  • One or more years of financial work experience with regulated utility accounting experience
  • Knowledge of software/systems such as SAP, Power Plant and Allegro
