Your Impact

  • As a Program Manager – Natural Gas Transportation Services, you’ll play a critical role in building and maintaining strong relationships with commercial and industrial customers who utilize gas transportation services. You’ll ensure smooth operations, compliance, and customer satisfaction—helping Peoples Gas remain a trusted energy partner and competitive leader in the market.

 

What You’ll Do

Customer Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary contact for large industrial customers (ITS and Wholesale)
  • Foster long-term partnerships through regular customer visits and proactive communication

Contract & Program Administration

  • Coordinate and implement Individual Transportation Service (ITS) agreements and capacity release agreements
  • Ensure contracts and tariffs are up-to-date and enforced
  • Provide training to internal teams on transportation agreements

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Monitor daily gas supply and analyze trends for potential issues
  • Communicate imbalances, capacity usage, and corrective actions to customers and internal teams

Process Improvement & Special Projects

  • Lead projects related to budgeting, forecasting, and market analysis
  • Drive change management for new systems, products, or programs
  • Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, seminars, and industry engagement

 

What You Need to Succeed

Must-Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, finance, or related field
    (Associate’s degree + 5 years relevant experience accepted)
  • 3+ years in account or contract management
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with database queries
  • Ability to work under pressure in a team environment

Nice-to-Have:

  • Graduate degree in a related field
  • Three (3) years work experience related to natural gas delivery, LDC and interstate pipeline systems; which consists of natural gas utility or natural gas marketing, and face to face customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of transportation service programs and contract law
  • Familiarity with real-time gas measurement software

Incident Response Assignment

Our community relies on Peoples Gas to respond swiftly and effectively to all types of incidents, including but not limited to major storm events (e.g., extreme cold, tropical storms, hurricanes), gas leaks, equipment failures, environmental hazards, and other emergencies that may impact public safety or service continuity.

Peoples Gas depends on each team member to fulfill their primary and/or alternate roles and responsibilities during such incidents. As a Team Member of Peoples Gas, you will be assigned an Incident Response Assignment, receive training related to your role, and may participate in mock drills or exercises simulating various emergency scenarios.
