HOW WILL YOU HELP DRIVE THE FUTURE OF NATURAL GAS?
The Measurement Ops Analyst II, with minimal supervision, supports measurement functions by ensuring accurate data for internal and external customers. Analyzes gas volumes from various sources and assists in developing natural gas systems. Maintains the department’s technology infrastructure, including data collection, communications equipment, and software tools. Manages work and asset management system (WAM) for field and compliance work orders and creating complex reports and meter test plans. Performs assignments of moderate complexity and may be required to provide and lead training sessions for internal and external customers, and mentoring others.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Associate’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Computer Science or related field. In lieu of an Associate’s degree, an additional 2 years of experience may be considered.
- 2 years of natural gas measurement experience. Relevant experience includes natural gas measurement or work with other petroleum products or commodities.
- Must have demonstrated proficiency in all the primary duties listed in the Gas Ops Measurement Analyst I position. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite and SAP System. Demonstrated understanding of natural gas measurement principles and processes and meter testing procedures and regulation timelines for a variety of meter sizes and other compliance requirements for specialized equipment.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work and Compliance Order Management: Creates, assigns, and tracks work and compliance orders, ensuring they are accurately and efficiently processed. Reviews orders to support adherence to regulatory standards across the statewide organization. Utilize a thorough understanding of geographical locations and the resources available in those areas to manually optimize resource allocation and meet workload demands in Field Service Manager (FSM). Add assets to WAM, including creating assets in WAM and establishing asset maintenance time frames Create and compile data analytics on field work orders to create meaningful reports for monitoring field activity progress and compliance tasks.
- Data Verification and Reporting: Verifies the accuracy of flow, temperature, pressure, and other data for large customers. Compiles summary reports, prepares monthly system BTU factors, and manages manual RNG/CNG billing processes and large customer billing activities.
- Measurement Data Management: Applies advanced mathematical and measurement principles to ensure accurate data via electronic systems. Serves as the department’s measurement software administrator, managing users, groups, device configurations, and overseeing applications. Ensures reliable integration of field measurement data and pipeline transaction management systems.
- Discrepancy Adjustment and Billing: Adjusts and documents measurement discrepancies, verifies corrected volumes, and updates device data and BTU factors. Compiles gas chromatograph data, verifies its accuracy, and imports it into the measurement system. Resolves measurement data disputes with third parties and changes devices and billing volumes in multiple applications to ensure timely and accurate customer billing.
- Operational Support: Assists the Manager, Engineer, Analysts, and Field Technicians with the operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting of OT telemetry and field equipment. Supports backoffice measurement activities, various usage, and compliance reports, and may obtain quotes, place orders, and process invoices. Creates annual compliance Meter Sample Plan, Periodic Change Out Meter Plan, 5-Year Meter Test List, 10-Meter Test List, and Annual Meter Test List.
- Special Reports: Applies sound measurement practices to prepare, analyze, and distribute unaccounted-for gas, peak day, and other special reports as required or requested.

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Computer Science or related field.
- Knowledge with FlowCal, Pgas, Measurement Advisor, Field Manager, SAP, or WAM environment.
WHO WILL BE A PART OF YOUR TEAM?
- Daily communication with internal department team members, fuels management, gas supply, gas control, and customer billing/accounting. Engage in long term partnerships with measurement engineers, field supervisors, field technicians, analysts, system application support administrators and supply personnel.
- Communicates with customers, customer’s agents, vendors, trade association members, and transmission/supply personnel.
- May provide mentoring and training to Data Analyst I and guidance to measurement field team

WHERE AND HOW YOU WILL WORK
- Work in an office environment but may occasionally be required to work or train offsite or at customer locations in outdoor settings.
- Employees involved in measurement reporting and billing are required to work during the month-end close. This ensures accurate posting and reconciliation, meeting established billing validation, and adhering to deadlines for timely financial statements. This will include working outside of regular office hours.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE REQUIREMENTS
TECO Energy and its companies serve a role in providing critical services to our community during an emergency. Team members are required to participate in the response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to our TECO Energy customers. Team members are required to work in their normal job duties or other assigned activities. Proper compensation will be made in accordance with the company's rules and procedures.
