Your Impact

As our Business Development Manager – Pipelines, you’ll originate and develop large-scale pipeline projects, connecting major industrial customers, power generators, and manufacturers to our distribution system. You’ll lead projects from concept through funding approval, oversee business outcomes during engineering and construction, and ensure alignment with customer and company goals.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project development and construction oversight
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize new pipeline projects
  • Build strategic relationships with customers and partners
  • Support commercial structuring and negotiations
  • Develop business cases and financial models
  • Drive regulatory strategy and compliance
  • Maintain accurate reporting and risk management

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Science, Math, or related field
  • 5+ years in business development or project management
  • Understanding of gas transportation agreements and tariffs
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Experience with energy market fundamentals and customer relationship management

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or graduate degree
  • Experience in energy industry business development, especially greenfield pipeline projects
  • Proven track record in commercial negotiations
  • Experience with regulated utilities and Florida’s natural gas market

Incident Response Assignment

Our community relies on Peoples Gas to respond swiftly and effectively to all types of incidents, including but not limited to major storm events (e.g., extreme cold, tropical storms, hurricanes), gas leaks, equipment failures, environmental hazards, and other emergencies that may impact public safety or service continuity.

Peoples Gas depends on each team member to fulfill their primary and/or alternate roles and responsibilities during such incidents. As a Team Member of Peoples Gas, you will be assigned an Incident Response Assignment, receive training related to your role, and may participate in mock drills or exercises simulating various emergency scenarios.
