Do you enjoy solving technical problems, building trusted relationships, and helping customers improve efficiency? As an Account Manager – Technical Sales Support, you'll serve as a valuable resource for customers, contractors, builders, and Energy Advantage Dealers by providing technical expertise and innovative energy solutions.
This role is ideal for someone with a background in the natural gas industry, energy systems, field operations, or technical sales support who enjoys combining technical knowledge with customer interaction.
What You'll Do
As a key member of our team, you'll help support business growth while delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Technical Consulting & Energy Solutions
- Evaluate customer energy usage and recommend efficient energy solutions and conversion opportunities.
- Analyze gas and electric applications and identify opportunities to improve performance and cost efficiency.
- Estimate project costs and support implementation of energy conversion projects.
Customer & Contractor Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Energy Advantage Dealers, contractors, builders, and customers.
- Inspect and monitor dealer work to ensure quality service and customer satisfaction.
- Serve as a trusted technical resource for customers and internal sales teams.
Business Development & Growth Support
- Identify opportunities to grow natural gas usage and related energy services within the region.
- Support revenue growth initiatives and regional development projects.
- Assist with customer retention efforts for commercial and industrial accounts.
Industry Expertise & Community Engagement
- Stay current on new technologies, energy solutions, and industry trends.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings.
- Support builders and developers by promoting natural gas solutions in residential developments.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of technical experience in the natural gas industry.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some college coursework.
- Previous sales or customer-facing experience.

Incident Response Assignment
Our community relies on Peoples Gas to respond swiftly and effectively to all types of incidents, including but not limited to major storm events (e.g., extreme cold, tropical storms, hurricanes), gas leaks, equipment failures, environmental hazards, and other emergencies that may impact public safety or service continuity.
Peoples Gas depends on each team member to fulfill their primary and/or alternate roles and responsibilities during such incidents. As a Team Member of Peoples Gas, you will be assigned an Incident Response Assignment, receive training related to your role, and may participate in mock drills or exercises simulating various emergency scenarios.
