HOW YOU’LL HELP DRIVE THE FUTURE OF NATURAL GAS? 

Under minimal supervision the RNG/CNG Coordinator performs highly skilled duties related to the operation, service and maintenance of CNG equipment and stations. Coordinates with RNG Plant Operators for scheduled RNG deliveries to the pipeline or CNG assets. Oversees new CNG station and RNG interconnect construction and commissioning and performs service for company owned customer stations. This includes all inspection, maintenance, training, rebuild, root cause analysis and all required station documentation. Ensures the safety of employees, customers and contractors through team member/contractor training, oversight and job site inspections.  Build and maintain relationships with customers, equipment suppliers, RNG Plant Operators, and contractors and be their first point of contact for station issues.

 

Performs assignments with a high level of independent judgment, initiative and leadership capabilities. 

 

 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:  

Performs a combination of the following: 

In performing the following duties and responsibilities, adheres to all safety and environmental guidelines, Construction Standards and industry practices and promotes a positive safety culture and environmental awareness. 

 

  1. Understand the operational and technical function of the company’s permanent and portable CNG equipment and related appurtenances. Perform routine scheduled maintenance and trouble-shoot equipment, analyze equipment failures, determine corrective action and successfully complete repairs, as necessary. Direct and manage the performance of maintenance contractors. This includes coordinating all tasks to ensure the work is completed on schedule and per equipment/maintenance documents. Mechanical, electrical, PLC, and instrumentation skills/knowledge are helpful.  
  2. Comprehend and implement manufacturer maintenance guidelines and procedures into station/project specific maintenance plans to ensure safe operation, reliability and optimal performance and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  3. Ensures the completion of inspection reports and maintains both electronic and hard copies of daily records for each station visited. Enters service work performed, tracks parts expense and labor hours, documents maintenance performed and logs customer calls. Maintains an appropriate inventory of replacement parts.  Clean and maintain stations fueling equipment, station canopies, fueling islands, and coordinate upkeep of landscape and structural aesthetics as necessary.
  4. Coordinate with RNG Plant Operators for RNG deliveries to the pipeline or to CNG assets. Ensure proper operations and maintenance of product RNG delivery compression systems, including troubleshoot equipment outages and getting equipment online and operational. Restarting equipment after shutdowns, assist in investigations to why unit’s shutdown and operate and maintain sites and all associated equipment in a safe, detailed, organized and presentable manner.
  5. Coordinates with Project and Construction Managers to inspect construction activities for quality assurance of design and regulatory requirements.
    • Ensures project permitting requirements are followed, including pre- and post-project notifications;
    • Ensures all FPSC, code, and environmental requirements are met as they pertain to natural gas fueling equipment.
    • Monitors job performance and makes independent judgments related to continued quality and safe work performance having authority to adjust the construction process and to halt jobs if necessary.
  6. Documents and reports inspection findings and construction activities to meet construction standards, industry practices, and safety and environmental guidelines, communicating to appropriate management as necessary.
  7. Indirect Supervision: Supervises the job performance of Contractors and may mentor, advise or train other Alternative Fuels and Operations team members.

 

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Must Haves:  

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must at all times possess a valid driver's license and meet the acceptable driving record requirements of the Company.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in CNG or compressor operations, engine, generator, turbine mechanics or electronics troubleshooting and repair, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, procedure manuals, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply mechanical and electrical schematics and diagrams Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to use a personal computer and word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of complex variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

WHERE AND HOW YOU’LL WORK?

Compressor station, CNG station, RNG plants and interconnects, and indoor/outdoor environments.  Must be available for callout 24/7 and emergency response.   Must be available to work weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Will be exposed to ambient heat and/or cold. Will be exposed to high noise levels < 110 decibels.   Will work with electrical voltages up to 480 volts AC.  Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.  Will be exposed to outdoor elements approximately 75% of the time. Will often work alone in remote locations.

 

 

The successful applicant will be required to take and pass a Baseline Medical Examination as part of the pre-employment screening once an offer has been accepted. A pre-employment drug screening, as well as a background check (including education, employment, criminal, and motor vehicle) will also be conducted as part of the pre-employment screening.
