HOW WILL YOU HELP DRIVE THE FUTURE OF NATURAL GAS?
The Division Supervisor will provide leadership to division operations team who perform a variety of job functions, including but not limited to, meter activities, inspections, locates, natural gas emergencies and/or the installation and maintenance of natural gas mains and services. Oversee successful completion of assigned job activities by planning, organizing and monitoring procedures and processes. The Supervisor, in conjunction with the Division Manager, ensures that division goals are in alignment with the Company’s business plan.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution.
- 4 years of a related natural gas utility operations experience.
- 2 years in a leadership role providing direct oversight and control of a team or projects.
- Must be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Thorough knowledge of company policies/procedures and Public Service Commission requirements.
- Ability to multi-task, delegate to others and respond effectively to high level stress situations.
- Excellent interpersonal, team building and demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop personnel.
- Strong oral and written communications skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely express and exchange ideas and to effectively conduct presentations.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides leadership, training and coaching of assigned division operations personnel to ensure understanding of job responsibilities, development of skills and maximized performance. Involved in Selection for Excellence, Performance Reviews, Individual Development Planning, and team member hiring, promotions, progressions, recognitions/rewards, positive disciplines and separations from the organization. Creates and adjusts work schedules for assigned personnel (vacations, holidays and emergency call-out) and updates work force management programs for automatic routing.
- Coordinates the maintenance and repair of Division Office facilities, fleet vehicles, off-road equipment and power-driven tools and equipment.
- Coordinates and assures the successful completion of all residential and commercial meter sets, change–outs, and turn-on/offs, mains and service installations, locates and inspections. Periodically conducts field site visits and investigates and resolves a variety of customer concerns and issues.
- Coordinates and regulates the use of contractors. Approves contractor billing, as-built drawings submitted by subcontractors and performs final inspections.
- Maintains required qualification records for all team members and contractors, including plastic pipe fusion and welding tests.
- Assists engineers in project design work, as well as coordinating construction jobs between contractors and municipalities.
- Maintains all Public Service Commission requirements as they pertain to the PGS natural gas distribution system.
- Responsible for the (PCO) periodic meter testing program, accelerated meter testing program and the sample-testing program.
- Maintains inventory at the division office facility through the ordering of meters, regulators and ERT units, including supplies for construction jobs.
- Investigates Company involved incidents/accidents and responds to after-hour emergencies and gas outages, performing as the After-Hours Coordinator/Supervisor on a rotating basis as assigned on the call-out Duty Schedule.

- Interfaces with all levels of Management, team members, direct reports, corporate staff, IT, Telecommunications and other company representatives.
- Contact is mostly with contractors, vendors, customers, and representatives of other utilities, cities, municipalities, FDOT, police and fire personnel.

WHERE AND HOW YOU WILL WORK
- Will be required to act as the After-Hours Coordinator/Supervisor on a rotating basis as assigned on the call-out Duty Schedule.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to pass a pulmonary function test for use of respiratory equipment.
- Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment for work assigned.
- Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, stairs and the like using feet, legs, hands and arms.
- Must be able to maintain balance when walking, standing, or crouching, on/in narrow or slippery surfaces and/or spaces.
- Must be able to independently operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner.
- Must be able to independently enter/exit a motor vehicle as required during an eight hour shift.
- Must be able to bend and/or stoop requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
- Must be able to kneel and or crouch by bending legs at knees to come to rest at knees and bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine.
- Must be able to walk, stand or sit for periods of time.
- Must be able to grasp/handle small hand tools and other objects by applying pressure with fingers and palms.
- Must be able to work primarily with fingers (pinching, picking, etc.) rather than using the whole hand or arm.
- Must be able to pull, push, lift and carry objects weighing up to 35 lbs.
- Must have vision correctable to 20/40.
- Must not have an average hearing loss greater than 40 decibels in the better ear at frequencies of 500, 1000 and 2000 with or without a hearing aid.
- Must be able to smell gas odorant in normal concentrations.
- Must be able to perform repetitive motions by extending arms and hands in any direction with substantial movement of wrists, hands and fingers.
- Must be able to rotate and revolve body (twist) as to face in another direction.
- Must be able to work outside for extended periods of time.

Incident Response Assignment
Our community relies on Peoples Gas to respond swiftly and effectively to all types of incidents, including but not limited to major storm events (e.g., extreme cold, tropical storms, hurricanes), gas leaks, equipment failures, environmental hazards, and other emergencies that may impact public safety or service continuity.
Peoples Gas depends on each team member to fulfill their primary and/or alternate roles and responsibilities during such incidents. As a Team Member of Peoples Gas, you will be assigned an Incident Response Assignment, receive training related to your role, and may participate in mock drills or exercises simulating various emergency scenarios.
