Job Summary:

Tampa Electric Company is seeking a highly skilled Systems Analyst with a focus on SAP Finance and in-depth knowledge of SAP Utilities Solutions to join our Information Systems department. As a Systems Analyst, you will play a crucial role in developing applications, implementing software packages, integrating applications, and providing 24x7 application support. Your expertise in SAP Finance, including SAP ERP HANA Finance, Financial Accounting, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Consolidations, will be essential in optimizing and maintaining our organization's financial systems. This is a multi-level position, and the salary range will be commensurate with your skills, experience, and education.

Responsibilities:    

 

•    Work closely with business users to gather and analyze requirements related to SAP Finance functionalities.
•    Design, configure, and customize SAP Finance modules to meet business needs, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
•    Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains within SAP Finance, proposing and implementing innovative solutions.
•    Conduct system testing, troubleshoot issues, and resolve problems related to SAP Finance functionality and integration.
•    Provide end-user support, training, and documentation to effectively utilize SAP Finance capabilities.
•    Monitor system performance, proactively identify potential bottlenecks, and implement measures to optimize system performance.
•    Stay up to date with SAP Finance module updates, patches, and enhancements, and assess their potential impact on our organization.
•    Develop software of moderate complexity based on provided specifications.
•    Implement software packages for which moderate configuration and integration are required, with an emphasis on SAP Utilities Solutions; interaction with vendor resources remotely or onsite may be required.
•    Integrate applications with moderately complex interfaces based on specifications, with a focus on seamless integration with SAP Utilities Solutions.
•    Provide 24x7 primary and/or secondary support for one or more applications classified as niche, core, or mission-critical, with special attention to SAP Utilities Solutions.
•    Support the request and analysis phases of the software development life-cycle (SDLC) by producing required documentation and estimates with review by more senior staff.
•    Execute the design, development, and implementation phases of SDLC by producing the prescribed deliverables with review by more senior staff, with a specific emphasis on SAP Utilities Solutions integration.
•    Participate on an Application Development and Support team as well as project teams under the direction of their manager, senior team members, or project managers, with a focus on SAP Utilities Solutions projects. May function as Technical Lead on small projects.
•    Acquire and maintain knowledge of business areas relevant to projects and application support assignments, with special attention to the utility industry's financial processes.
•    Acquire and maintain appropriate technical skills, particularly in SAP Finance and SAP Utilities Solutions.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education

•    Education: bachelor’s degree in information/Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or equivalent discipline. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, additional years of related experience may be considered.

 

Related Experience
•    Required:  Ten years of experience in systems analysis, design, and development.
•    Preferred:  Twelve years of experience in systems analysis, design, and development.

 

Licenses/Certifications

At least one professional certification in specific job-related disciplines is preferred.

•    Solid understanding of SAP Finance modules, including but not limited to SAP S/4HANA Finance, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Financial Reporting.
•    Familiarity with SAP Fiori and SAP Analytics Cloud would be an advantage.
•    Knowledge of PowerPlan and FERC is preferred.
•    SAP certifications in relevant modules would be a plus.
•    Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

•    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA):
o    Working knowledge of business software applications and hardware technologies, with an emphasis on SAP Utilities Solutions. Stays current with IT industry trends and emerging technologies.
o    Good verbal, written, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Effectively presents information to their team and department as needed.
o    Understands project plans and can clearly articulate their role, project goals, and timelines. Develops project plans for small projects, with consideration for SAP Utilities Solutions integration.
o    Comprehends technical design specifications and possesses knowledge of development tools and technologies in support of the Information Technology Architecture, with an emphasis on SAP Utilities Solutions. Authors technical design specifications for small projects, focusing on SAP Utilities Solutions integration.
o    Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.

 

Working Conditions:

Most work will be performed in an office environment, but occasional travel to operating locations may be required.
