Linespotter/Sr. Linespotter

City:  Santa Fe
State:  NM

This position will be open to internal and external candidates and will close on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.

 

Pay for the Linespotter position is in the range of $43,672 to $54,590 and pay for the Senior Linespotter position is in the range of $49,440 to $61,800 and is dependent upon skills, experience and education of the successful candidate.  The Linespotter pay range is composed of a current base pay range of $42,400 to $53,000 and the Senior Linespotter pay range is composed of a current base pay range of $48,000 to $60,000 with 3% supplemental pay, which is administered in accordance with NMGC's Supplemental Pay Policy.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
This list does not reflect the job duties in their entirety.
•    Locates and marks underground facilities as requested to prevent damage by other excavating contractors and individuals.
•    Maintains accurate records of work performed.
•    Develops knowledge of other utility underground and field construction practices.
•    Checks and repairs damaged coating on lines (as needed by location).
•    Maintains locating equipment to ensure accurate operating condition.
*Senior Level: Entry Level Duties Plus Additional Responsibilities


Successful Candidate Must Have:
•    A high school diploma or GED
•    A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
•    Linespotter: 0-3 years of experience

•    Sr. Linespotter: 4 years of experience

Preferences: Must live within 30 minutes of the Santa Fe Service Center


Working Conditions 
Field environment.  May be required to work overtime and/or on call and handle emergency response as needed.  May be required to work at various job sites, out of town, and/or remote locations for extended periods. Regularly required to walk, sit, and stand up to 2/3 of the time.  Manual dexterity required and the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, talk, and listen.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.  Vision requirements include:  close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
