Supvervisor, Operations

City:  Carlsbad

This position will be open to internal and external applicants and will close on Monday, April 21, 2025

 

The Supervisor, Operations position pays between $95,360.00 to $119,200.00.  Placement is based on skills, experience and education of the successful candidate.

 

The successful candidate must live within 30 minutes of the Carlsbad office. 

 

About this Opportunity

As an Operations Supervisor, you’re tasked with ensuring operational employees complete their work efficiently, while maintaining and promoting positive relationships. You will be overseeing a large group, functional unit, or department that may be performing several functions, including construction, maintenance, service/installation, among others. Besides working with all levels of the organization, you may be working with contractors, vendors, office visitors, or customers to promote a seamless execution of operational needs. 
 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creates general work assignments for the group and directs, schedules, and controls specific assignments as necessary, during normal work hours or emergency call-out
  • Ensures all personnel are properly trained in each aspect of their job
  • Provides goals and objectives, a budget to achieve these, and ensures proper cost management in area of responsibility
  • Ensures the group follows all guidelines related to loss control and provides adequate training and resources to accomplish work safely
  • Provides long-range direction regarding department goals and objectives

 

Successful Candidate Must Have:
•    A bachelor’s degree (an additional 4 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
•    Three (3) years of direct experience performing the duties in operations within a natural gas utility, the maintenance/construction industry, the plumbing industry, engineering field, or other related field
•    Must maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record


Working Conditions:
Normal office environment with frequent site visits to Gas operations work locations in New Mexico, requiring travel throughout the state. Field operations environment. May be on 24-hour call during various periods of time. Ability to sit up to 2/3 of the time and to stand, walk, and stoop up to 1/3 of the time.  Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
