Telecom Infrastructure Specialist (Multiple Levels)

The Telecom Infrastructure Specialist position pays between $63,440 and $79,300, the Senior Telecom Infrastructure Specialist pays between $78,640 and $98,300, and the Lead Telecom Infrastructure Specialist pays between $95,350 and $119,200. Placement in any level is based on skills, experience, and education of the successful candidate.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

- Conducts analysis of IP Telephony/Network infrastructure needs and contributes to the design, integration, and installation of present and future technology, including communication with vendors regarding available products, enhancements, and services.
- Conducts test and evaluation of hardware/software to determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing systems.
- Monitors and maintains IP Telephony/Network infrastructure stability while supporting root cause analysis related to malfunctioning or inoperative hardware/software and routine maintenance, including scheduled maintenance and backups.
- Conducts analysis, planning, design, and execution of IP Telephony/Network infrastructure projects, including maintenance and creation of documentation related to all components.
- Conducts installation of hardware/software by third parties.
- Provides support and training to users relevant to all installed or future IP Telephony/Network infrastructure.
- Conducts development of an emergency plan to deal with a catastrophic event and ensures plan is updated to meet current business needs.
- Conducts setup, configuration, moves, etc. to support new hires and movement of personnel and offices.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
*Senior & Lead Levels: Entry Level Duties Plus Additional Responsibilities
Successful Candidate Must Have:
- A high school diploma
- A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Telecom Infrastructure Spec: 1 year of experience. Cisco CCNA Voice and Collaboration preferred.
- Sr. Telecom Infrastructure Spec: 3 years of experience, Cisco CCNA-Voice, Cisco CCNA-Collaboration, or other entry level voice /Telecom certification required.
- Lead Telecom Infrastructure Spec: 5 years of experience, Cisco CCNP Collaboration or other professional level voice certification required.
- Additional preferences: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field, VOIP experience, and CCIE certification
Working Conditions
Office environment with occasional field work. Position requires working longer hours and/or on-call to handle emergency response as needed to meet business needs. Will be required to travel. Manual dexterity is required to perform computer applications and good vision to perform all aspects of the job. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. May occasionally be required to work at elevated heights in possibly hazardous environments or remote locations requiring hiking.
