Project Engineer I/I/III

The Project Engineer I position pays between $72,320 to $90,400, the Project Engineer II position pays between $87,360.00 to $109,200.00. and the Project Engineer III position pays between $103,440 to $129,300. Placement in any level is based on skills, experience and education of the successful candidate.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

- Manage the construction and contribute to the planning, engineering, procurement, and start-up of multiple capital projects. Manage project scope, cost, time, risk, quality, procurement, communications and human resources to drive project execution and meet project objectives.
- Effectively plan, organize, and coordinate the work of a project team and be accountable for project performance measured by safety, schedule, financial, and operating goals.
- Thoroughly understand the project business cases. This includes, as necessary, contributing to the development of varying solutions or scope options for comparison, economic analysis, and development of non-economic project justification.
- Manage project communications, including identifying project stakeholders, facilitating regular project team meetings; delivering presentations; resolving and/or escalating issues.
- Report on cost, schedule, status, and critical items which may materially affect project performance.
*Project Engineer II and III Duties -Entry Level Duties Plus Additional Responsibilities
Successful Candidate Must Have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a college/university accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc. (ABET).
- A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Project Eng I: 1 year of engineering experience
- Project Eng II: 3 years of engineering experience, with 2 years of work directly related to the duties and responsibilities of this position.
- Project Eng III: 5 years of engineering experience, with 3 years of work directly related to duties and responsibilities of this position.
- Preferred certifications: Project Management Professional certification (PMP), Professional Engineering (PE) License in the state of New Mexico, Certified Gas Distribution Professional (RGDP), Certified Gas Transmission Profession (CGTP), EIT.
- Preferred experience: Experience managing general construction and/or engineering contracts; Experience with facility improvements and maintenance/upgrades desirable.
Working Conditions
Overtime work as needed. Frequent outdoor activity in remote areas during project evaluation and construction. Travel is required and anticipated up to 50 percent across New Mexico The requirement to carry a company-provided cell phone and be available to respond during working and non-working hours. On call as needed up to two weeks per year.
