Linespotter/Sr. Linespotter

City:  Albuquerque

This position will be open to internal and external applicants and will close on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

 

Pay for the Linespotter  position in in the range of $48,760 to $60,950 and pay for the Sr. Linespotter position is in the range of $55,200 to $69,000 and is dependent upon skills, experience and education of the successful candidate.   This pay range is composed of a current base pay range of $42,400 to $53,000 for the Linespotter position, and a current base pay range of $48,000 to $60,000 for the Sr. Linespotter,  with 15% supplemental pay, which is administered in accordance with NMGC’s Supplemental Pay Policy.    

 

The successful candidate must live within 30 minutes from the Albuquerque Gas Service Center.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
This list does not reflect the job duties in their entirety.

  • Locates and marks underground facilities as requested to prevent damage by other excavating contractors and individuals.
  • Maintains accurate records of work performed.
  • Develops knowledge of other utility underground and field construction practices.
  • Checks and repairs damaged coating on lines (as needed by location).
  • Maintains locating equipment to ensure accurate operating condition.

*Senior Level: Entry Level Duties Plus Additional Responsibilities

 

Successful Candidate Must Have:

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Linespotter: 0-3 years of experience
  • Sr. Linespotter: 4 years of experience 

 

Working Conditions 
Field environment.  May be required to work overtime and/or on call and handle emergency response as needed.  May be required to work at various job sites, out of town, and/or remote locations for extended periods. Regularly required to walk, sit, and stand up to 2/3 of the time.  Manual dexterity required and the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, talk, and listen.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.  Vision requirements include:  close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
