GIS Technician
This position will be open to internal and external applicants and will close on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
This position pays between $48,720.00 to $60,900.00 and is based on skills, experience and education of the successful candidate.

Join our team as a GIS Tech, where you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our utility infrastructure. In this position, you’ll leverage cutting-edge GIS and CAD tools to create accurate, detailed maps and schematics that support the design, construction, and maintenance of our gas facilities. Your work will ensure the integrity and efficiency of our utility operations by producing and maintaining both electronic and hard-copy facility drawings. From updating records to supporting critical projects, you’ll be at the center of transforming data into actionable insights that keep our systems running safely and reliably.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

- Enters pipeline information and locations into GIS from as-built work order system and proposed sketches.
- Maps and maintains geographic information system data, including parcels, streets, and addressing from digital and paper survey plats.
- Prepares cartographic maps for internal and external customers to represent pipeline locations or analysis of data.
- Maintains standard electronic and hard copy maps, drawings, and record sets as changes are received from user groups, including proper interpretation of construction prints, technical reports, gas work orders and other sources for detection of necessary modification or required re-draw.
- Prepares construction drawings for various user groups; correlates user instructions, sketches, survey notes, maps, engineering drawings, and records to achieve an accurate and functional design layout.
- Prepares special drawings for various users, which may include plan and profiles, pipeline schematics, valve assemblies, and three-dimensional representations.
Successful Candidate Must Have:
- A high School or General Education diploma
- A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- One (1) year of GIS experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.
- Preferences: Demonstrated experience with gas utility mapping using geometric network or utility network environments; Bilingual proficiency in Spanish
Working Conditions
Field/Office environment. Ability to sit up to 2/3 of the time and to stand, walk and stoop up to 1/3 of the time. Good vision and ability to focus is required. Manual dexterity is required. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
