TITLE:  Information Technology – Project Manager Associate (Progression)

This is a multi-level position and the salary range for this position varies and is commensurate with skills, experience, and education.


This person will lead teams of information technology professionals, business partners and vendors, providing technical, professional, and personal leadership to assure the successful completion of IT&T projects.  Under general direction, s/he is responsible for all aspects of the project life cycle and will act as a single point of contact for those projects.  In addition, this person will facilitate alignment with the systems development methodology and associated processes used within the IT&T Department.


Please keep in mind that these are the minimum requirements for an IT Project Manager position. This position does have various levels, so if an applicant meets more of the preferred skills, they may qualify for a higher-level position within the IT Project Manager job family


IT Project Manager Associate (Progression)
1.    Provide project leadership on minor IT projects.
2.    Lead project teams in defining and sequencing activities, estimating tasks, and building the overall plan to achieve project objectives. 
3.    Communicate project information and status to all stakeholders and escalate appropriately.  
4.    Consult directly with resource managers to validate resource availability and allocations. 
5.    Develop plans and facilitate the execution of the project schedule, continually monitoring progress, identifying and managing risks, and driving issue resolution.
6.    Ensure accuracy of project charges and time reporting, report variances, and provide financial forecasts.
7.    Consistently apply best practices in managing projects and demonstrate accountability for project success.




Key Internal:    Interacts with company employees at all levels, with responsibilities for external interactions with consultants, vendors, and contractors.  This person may make presentations to business partners and senior management in providing project status and seeking project approvals.
Key External:    Responsible for building and maintaining external relationships with vendors, contractors, and external auditors.


Required:    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or equivalent in formal education.   

Required:    None
Preferred:    Holds an industry-level certification (IT or Project Management).


Direct Experience
One year of demonstrated IT experience, which can include school internship program.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA) 
Required: Must have demonstrated sound technical knowledge in areas relating to Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile principles and Scrum, Program Management Office (PMO), and project portfolio analysis.  Knowledge of the Program Management Office’s concept, practices, and procedures.  Skills in project management tools.  Proficient application of IT best practices
