This position pays between $76,949.00 to $102,599.00 and is based on skills, experience and education of the successful candidate.

 

 

Position Concept:

Responsible for working with management and front-line personnel to analyze and understand business needs and strategy in order to document and recommend appropriate IT solutions.  Serve as a liaison between business partners and IT&T Solutions Development and Support personnel.

 

Sr. Business Systems Analyst (SBSA)

The Business Systems Analyst Sr, working with management and business leaders, ascertains business needs and strategy in order to document and recommend appropriate IT solutions.  Constructs and maintains business process models for Business Units and at an Enterprise level.  Drives the resolution to issues while developing strong business and complex system knowledge relating to TECO’s entire applications portfolio.  May mentor and provide training to Level 1 and Level 2 Business Systems Analysts.  Works under minimal supervision. 

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Independently conduct interviews with all levels of business management and department leaders to ascertain business needs, and represent and communicate systems requirements that are specific, accurate, and unambiguous.
  2. Serve as a primary IT&T point-of-contact for mid-level business management, addressing the needs of multiple Business Units.
  3. Coach and mentor staff in the application of business process modeling techniques.
  4. Ensure the resolution of issues and communication of actions to appropriate management staff.
  5. Construct and maintain business process models for Business Units and at an Enterprise level. 
  6. Determine and subset project specific process models from the Enterprise Process Model.
  7. Develop strong business and complex system knowledge relating to TECO’s entire applications portfolio and how it is used to enable the related business functions.
  8. Participate in the creation of User Acceptance Test (UAT) plans during the Requirements Definition phase of the SDLC and review/validate UAT results for alignment with business requirements.

 

EDUCATION:

Required:  A Bachelor's degree in Information/Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems or equivalent discipline.

May consider an Associate's degree in combination with additional year's experience.

 

Preferred:  A Master’s Degree in a specified field listed above. 

 

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:      
Minimum of 8 years of related experience performing the Duties and Responsibilities of this position.

May consider 2 years of additional experience which includes systems analysis, design and development, in combination with an Associate’s Degree. 

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA)

Required:

  • Strong verbal, written, organizational, analytical, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to interact with all levels or business partners, IT&T team members, and senior management.   
  • Demonstrated ability to independently conduct interviews with all levels of management and department leaders to be able to capture, represent, and distinguish between business needs and desires/wants. 
  • Extensive experience in Business Process Analysis and Modeling and experience in all phases of a SDLC methodology. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in support of business process analysis efforts and educating others in the proper application of tools and techniques.
  • Proficient knowledge of defined business processes and extensive working knowledge of business applications and hardware technologies. 
  • Understands the aspects, components, and requirements of running a successful project – fiscally, functionally, timeline, and quality. 
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, Business Process Modeling, and Entity Relational Modeling tools and Project Management software (i.e. MS Project).

 

Preferred:

Detailed knowledge of CGI’s PragmaLine suite (OMS, CAD, etc.), PowerPlant, SAP, and Microsoft Technologies (SQL Server, BizTalk, Reporting Services, SharePoint, etc.) is a plus.
