This position will be open to internal and external applicants and will close on Monday August 19, 2019. 

This position pays between $60,014.00  to $75,018.00 and is based on skills, experience and education of the successful candidate.

 

The specialty for this position is Cathodic Protection, Line Locating and Leak Survey.

 

POSITION CONCEPT

 

Provides technical and operator qualification (OQ) training and evaluation to team members and external contractors and other utility personnel. Serves as a technical subject matter expert and serves as a consultant on related matters to gas operations. Performs research analysis, evaluation, development, coordination and implementation of employee development programs that are within the assigned areas of responsibility.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (D&R)

 

Facilitates classroom, shop, and field training programs. Conducts performance evaluations for participants.

 

Learning multiple industry disciplines to facilitate thorough training.

 

Provides individualized training/re-training to aid in the development and enhancement of job skills and technical knowledge.

 

Serves as a technical expert in the areas of assigned expertise. Keeps abreast of new trends and technology in field of expertise. Provides technical subject matter consultation and troubleshooting for projects and field work.

 

Designs, develops, revises, and implements technical training program content and structure. Develops annual training schedule and arranges program logistics. Evaluates program effectiveness regularly.

 

Teaches, demonstrates, and models safe work practices at all times. Conducts site visits to ensure proper procedures and practices are being followed in all operations areas.

 

Researches, analyzes, evaluates and recommends new equipment to management.

 

Partners with business unit to develop and implement company technical training strategy.

 

Researches, interprets, and presents statistics and data relating to training including designing data collection and communicating through reports and proposals.

 

Recommends budgets, procures, maintains, and operates specialized equipment not normally provided to or operated by field personnel.

 

RELATIONSHIPS

Key Internal:           Gas Operation and Engineering Leadership, DOT Compliance

Key External:          Third Party Contractors and other External Training Customers, Learning Management System Vendors, Gas Operation Equipment and Material Vendors

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education    

Required:     High School Diploma or GED

Preferred:    Bachelor’s degree

 

Licenses/Certifications

Required:     Must at all times possess a valid driver's license and meet the acceptable driving record requirements of the Company.

Preferred:     NACE Level 1, Journeyman Gas Fitter License (JGL), Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), and/or Certified Welding Instructor (CWI).

 

 

Related Experience

Required:     Minimum of seven years of related gas, utility, or oil industry operations or engineering experience in progressively more complex assignments. Related experience must include successful delivery of gas, utility, or oil industry operations technical and/or compliance training. Experience must include, without substitution, a minimum of three (3) years experience in Cathodic Protection, Construction, Measurement/Pressure Control, or Service and Installation based on the advertised specialty. 

                   College Degree will be considered in lieu of up to 4 years of the required gas, utility or oil industry operations or engineering experience.

 

Preferred:  Direct work experience performing the duties and responsibilities of this position is preferred.  Experience in adult learning and training and content development is preferred. 

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA)

Required:     Detailed understanding of principles of gas operations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Strong planning and organizational and listening skills. Strong ability to work with individuals and groups regardless of communication, management, or personal styles. Ability to manage a program or project from start to completion, utilizing varied resources.

 

Preferred:    Ability to work independently and self-manage. Basic knowledge of materials

testing techniques and test data analysis. Ability to operate and maintain highly complex specialized equipment and instrumentation not normally used or operated by field personnel.
