The Talent Acquisition (TA) Specialist partners with business leaders to understand position and business requirements, develops effective recruitment strategies to identify and attract top talent and facilitates a fair and inclusive recruitment process. As subject matter expert in TA, you will develop sourcing strategies and conduct pro-active outreach for hard to fill roles. You will also act as a brand ambassador, build, and nurture relationships with prospective candidates, post-secondary institutions, and industry partners to position Tampa Electric as an employer of choice.



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and experience, a PHR or SPHR is preferred.
  • 2+ years of Talent Acquisition, Recruitment/Staffing or Human Resources experience with an understanding of full life cycle recruitment.  Experience recruiting for IT/Engineering roles highly preferred, in addition to experience recruiting for a broad range of functions including but not limited to HR, Finance/Accounting, Customer Experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have some experience Recruiting in a Corporate environment or a combination of Corporate and Agency environments.
  • Applicant Tracking System experience is required; previous SuccessFactors experience is a plus.
  • Effective understanding in how to consult with and be a value-add partner to the BU leaders for organizations of support, in addition to screening and sourcing skills.
  • High degree of initiative, proactive in nature, results oriented with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Solid project management, negotiation, and organization skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage and build rapport quickly.
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and agility to multi-task and prioritize are essential.
  • Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of some of the requirements.
