POSITION CONCEPT:

The Systems Analyst Consultant - Enterprise Application Integration is a technical expert in designing, developing, and supporting application integration solutions.  They identify and specify complex interface requirements and translate them into comprehensive integrated solutions.  They collaborate on all phases of the software development life-cycle (SDLC) and utilize appropriate development tools and technologies in keeping with our IT architecture.  They also provide 24x7 monitoring and support for our core integration tools, services, and existing application integrations.

Level 4 - Systems Analyst Consultant

The Systems Analyst Consultant leads complex software development projects and integrates applications with complex interfaces based on specifications provided.  Creates and reviews technical design specifications. Works under limited supervision and mentors’ junior staff.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads complex software development projects.  Collaborates with Business Systems Analysts and/or Business Partners to develop software specifications. 
  • Implements software packages for which complete configuration and integration is required; interaction with vendor resources remotely or onsite may be required.
  • Leads the integration of applications with complex interfaces based on specifications provided.
  • Provides 24x7 primary and/or secondary support for one or more applications classified as niche, core, or mission-critical. 
  • Supports the request and analysis phases of SDLC by producing required documentation and estimates with review by more senior staff.
  • Executes the design, development, and implementation phases of SDLC by producing the prescribed deliverables; oversees and manages deliverables produced by junior staff.
  • Participates on an Application Development and Support team as well as project teams under the direction of their manager or project managers.  Functions as Technical Lead on projects and oversees technical staff; may lead multiple concurrent projects.
  • Subject matter expert in multiple business areas, including those relevant to projects and application support assignments.
  • Considered a subject matter expert in their technical discipline; mentors and directs junior staff, provides feedback to manager on junior staff performance review.  Develops and drives standard practices within their team.

 

EDUCATION:

Required:  Bachelor’s degree in Information/Computer Science, Business Administration,

Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or equivalent discipline issued by a regionally accredited Institution (SACs, etc.). 

Preferred:  Master’s Degree in Information/Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or equivalent discipline. 

 

Licenses/Certifications:

Preferred:  One or more professional certifications in specific job-related disciplines.

 

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:  Ten years of experience in systems analysis, design, and development. 

  • Expert in service-oriented architecture principles, integration patterns, and configuration of a messaging architecture. 
  • Experience in SAP integration architecture - including SAP Cloud Platform Integration and SAP PI/PO
  • Experience in managing a complex cross system integration SAP landscape/environment that supports core business functions (e.g. SAP ERP (Finance, Supply Chain, HR/Payroll), Customer Relationship Management) in accordance with SAP and industry best practices.
  • Proficient with SAP PI/PO integration technologies in the following areas: Service Repository and Integration Directory; Data mappings, XSLT mappings, EDI and XML communications, Proxies, interface definitions, and XSDs; Configuration and implementation of PI/PO adapter types (IDoc, RFC, JDBC, File, SOAP, WS, JMS, HTTP, REST and Proxy); Configuration, design, development, Message monitoring; adapter logs, adapter engine status, communication channels etc.

 Level of responsibility and knowledge/skills/ability increases within the progression

Preferred: 

  • Ten years of experience in systems analysis, design, and development. 
  • Proficiency in SAP HANA Cloud Integration / SAP Cloud Platform Integration (SCPI)
  • Worked on projects utilizing SAP HANA, SAP S/4 Hana, SAP FIORI, SAP BW
  • Experience integrating SAP with external systems using a variety of methods.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA):

Required:

  • Proficient knowledge of business software applications and hardware technologies.  Stays current with IT industry trends and emerging technologies; leads application of new technologies when appropriate.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills.  Frequently presents information to their team and department.
  • Develops project plans for small projects; partners with Project Managers to develop project plans for large projects.  Assists manager with project scheduling and resource management.  
  • Creates and reviews technical design specifications and possesses knowledge of development tools and technologies in support of the Information Technology Architecture.  
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.  
  • Drives continuous process improvement for SDLC, maintenance, application support, and technology architecture.
