POSITION CONCEPT 

Implements, manages and administers residential conservation programs for Tampa Electric to include: Heating and Cooling, Ceiling Insulation, Energy Star New Construction, Energy Star Multi-Family, Energy Star Thermostat, Energy Star Pool Pump, , , Window Replacement and any new potential residential FPSC mandated programs.  Also responsible for providing, to all supporting departments within Tampa Electric and Vendors, the direction and strategy that will support these programs while balancing the interests of the company and its shareholders.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develops, directs, and executes strategic initiatives for the Residential Conservation Programs to grow customer participation, and control expenses.  Manages overall program to ensure regulatory compliance. 
  • Develops business relationships with suppliers, business partners, all other appropriate key stakeholders to foster long term partnerships and to ensure successful execution of sales and marketing strategies. 
  • Manages budget recovered through the Energy Conservation Cost Recovery (ECCR) clause to ensure expenses are prudent and recoverable.  Provides financial reporting of the program to all levels of management.
  • Responsible for exploring new technologies and conservation programs introduced in the marketplace; participates with the evaluation, recommendation, and implementation. 
  • Develops and maintains industry knowledge and expertise in the areas of residential energy conservation.  
  • Tracks and documents customer participation levels and demand reductions for all residential conservation programs.  
  • Coordinates the development of marketing/communications campaigns to achieve customer participation to meet conservation goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for the contract negotiations and contractor performance with vendors supplying materials, services, and labor for the residential conservation programs. 
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving all rebates associated with TEC’s residential conservation programs to ensure accuracy.
  • Interface with all necessary Tampa Electric departments to ensure successful execution of Energy Management Services (EMS) strategies and day to day operations

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education  

Required:     

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university  

Preferred:        

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.


Licenses/Certifications
Preferred:        

  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Business Energy Professional (BEP)

Experience  
Required:    

  • Minimum of 4 years of work experience related to customer service, business, or engineering.
  • An additional 4 years of experience related to customer service, business, or engineering may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.  

Preferred:    

  • 4 years of work experience administering or managing utility conservation programs. 

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA) 

Required:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of the Tampa Electric Tariff, Tariff agreements and Regulatory requirements for the accurate delivery of conservation programs.

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated competency of knowledge of the Tampa Electric Tariff, Tariff agreements and Regulatory requirements for the accurate delivery of conservation programs.
  • Technical understanding of hardware and software functionality to implement and maintain conservation programs.
  • Knowledge of the (SAP), Energy Efficiency Collaborative Platform (EECP).

WORKING CONDITIONS 

Includes inside office work and occasional outdoor site visits (customers home and new residential construction sites).


PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ REQUIREMENTS 

Occasional field inspections to include HVAC duct work and insulation requiring the agility to navigate in tight attic spaces.
