What you will be doing if you are offered this position & accept:

Our Payroll Analyst reports to the Manager of Payroll and is the subject matter expert in the areas of time system administration, payroll, and tax administration.  Ensuring compliance with all time, payroll, and tax laws with local, state, and federal.  This includes preparing payroll data, verification of time entries along with preparing tax data and performing tax filings.

 

More specifically, the Payroll Analyst will:

  • Coordinate and execute end to end payroll. 
  • Ensure timely and accurate time submission, the calculation of wages, special payments, deductions, and payroll taxes. 
  • Provide premier business unit support, timely response to questions, and continual payroll related decision-making
  • Be responsible for all court orders such as:  garnishments, child support, tax levies, etc.  Including the third-party remittance.  Uphold all monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Analyze and recommend changes to payroll processes and procedures to improve accuracy.
  • Efficiently work with the Information Technology (IT) team as needed for immediate system corrections.  Test system upgrades and all enhancements. 
  • Support all aspects of processing a biweekly payroll cycle.  Utilizing appropriate preparation, timely reconciliation, maintaining detailed records for audit purposes, and special projects. 
  • Execute year-end processes for accurate reporting and submission of all data related to payroll.

 

What you must have before you can be considered:

  • 3-4+ years of related experience in an end to end payroll department, with progressively complex assignments. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field from a regionally accredited college.
  • Sound working knowledge of SAP Payroll module or similarly large complex payroll system.
  • Use of query-based reporting tools with a solid understanding of general accounting.  
  • An eye for detail, superior organization skills supported by strong communication
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet continual rigid deadlines
  • Advanced Excel skills accompanied by other intermediate skills of Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated superior problem-solving skills, excellent judgment and teamwork
  • High standards of discretion and confidentiality are a must
  • Working knowledge of payroll tax calculation and filing requirements for federal and states.
  • Relevant equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of some requirements.

  • Advanced education, i.e. MS/MA/MBA and professional certification
  • A CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification or in process.
