This position is responsible for the electric and gas divisions of Tampa Electric and other Florida operations as well as providing guidance and collaboration for other affiliated companies.  This position works with minimal direction in providing leadership through regulatory efforts, process analysis, system solutions, end user training and accounting guidance.  This position achieves business objectives through leadership of team members in accounting, regulatory and operational areas.  



1. Facilitate regulatory objectives through the management of cost recovery of plant investments, rate case responsibilities and other rate/recovery assignments. (20%)
2. Facilitate cost of service requirements through regulatory functionalization of property, plant, and equipment. (10%)
3. Facilitate depreciation study requirements, including responsibilities related to useful lives, cost of removal, salvage, dismantlement, and reserve analysis. (10%)
4. Facilitate month end closing of Work Order AFUDC Calculations, Asset Unitizations, Asset Retirements and CPR ARO Calculation and Depreciation Expense Calculations. (5%)
5. Manage the delivery of actual and forecasted plant accounting information for use in business planning models and surveillance reports. (20%)
6. Maintain and improve the use of PowerPlan applications and the processes that make PowerPlan and the entire ERP effective and efficient – especially related to facilitating capital project management and forecasting. (25%)
7. Lead training to optimize the company value of all PowerPlan and ERP applications and processes. (10%)



Required: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college with a major in Accounting, Finance or related discipline

Preferred: CPA



Required: Minimum of 5 years of financial work experience and/or utility plant accounting, business process optimization, financial system acumen, business/end user support; Regulated utility accounting experience; experience performing duties and responsibilities within PowerPlan.

Preferred: More than five years of financial work experience with regulated utility accounting experience; minimum of 2 years in a senior level or lead accountant/accounting analyst role; prior supervisory experience.  Experience performing duties and responsibilities within SAP.



Required: Proficiency in Microsoft applications; detailed knowledge of financial reporting, plant accounting, and financial systems & data management; Demonstrated strong skills in process analysis, project management and communication.

Preferred: Proficiency in PowerPlan Fixed Asset modules (Projects, Assets, Depr, DeprSty, CR, Admin). Proficiency in FI/CO Modules of SAP.
