Tampa Electric Company, Manager, Utility Tax, Tampa, FL. Prepare monthly income tax provisions, including regulatory and financial income tax accounting schedules required for financial reporting and SEC purposes. Coordinate and review company responses to IRS auditors’ data requests and notice of proposed adjustments to ensure accuracy and completeness. Coordinate and review the Regulated Companies responses to financial auditors’ data requests to ensure accuracy and completeness. Develop and oversee the implementation of income tax planning projects related to the Regulated Utilities, as directed by the Director. Oversee the preparation and review of the Regulated Companies Federal and State income tax returns, including tax return true ups and Statement of Financial Accounting Standards (FAS) 109 schedules and associated tax research. Coordinate and review all Regulated Company responses to regulator queries and requests related to income tax and tax plant depreciation, including discovery and rate case preparations.  Spearhead the preparation and review of the Regulated Companies income tax budgets and forecasts. Develop and maintain a professional network in industry organizations to monitor technical trends, participate in benchmarking and industry issue resolutions. 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.).

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must have a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Finance, Accounting, Taxation or a related field, and 7 years of post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience.

Of the required experience, must have 7 years of experience with the following: Preparing and reviewing corporate income tax provisions of public Utility Companies; Applying the accounting principles laid out under ASC 740; Working with internal departments and external auditors to manage the completion of deliverables within the assigned deadlines; and Utilizing Microsoft Excel to develop and review the income tax computations section of financial models.

Must have at least 3 years experience in the following: Supervising income tax professionals, including coaching of their future development.

 

Travel to various locations throughout the US required up to 10%. 

 

Travel to various international locations required up to 5%.
