POSITION CONCEPT

The Energy Manager is a strategic point of contact for Energy related services to utilities, suppliers, and customers.  Responsibilities include overseeing and monitoring the Request for Proposal (RFP) process; recommending a suitable supplier; analyzing customer’s energy costs; development of energy budgets; and providing hedging information.  Also, creates energy market products, and performs natural gas/electric tariff reviews and analysis.  Helps support PGS in obtaining revenue goals. 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITES

  • Utilizing Energy Management programs, prepare financial and operational reports for review with our Energy Management clients.  
  • Develop and negotiate RFP process, compare and analyze supplier’s quotes and recommend a supplier to our customers.  Review and finalize contract with the supplier and customer.   
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the customers, energy suppliers, and involved third parties. Analyze market conditions and suggest hedging when the market is suitable to fit the customer’s energy budget.  
  • Develop budget and forecast analysis for the customer’s energy cost and review the report with the customer.  
  • Perform annual utility tariff review and analysis and communicate billing and/or tariff rate discrepancies to customer(s).  
  • Assists in the development of procedures to streamline functions for current and/or new energy related programs. Develop knowledge of utility operations/procedures & work closely with PGS to help increase revenue.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education 

Required:      

  • Associates Degree from an accredited university in the field of business, marketing, finance, energy, or another technical field.

Preferred:     

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in the field of business, marketing, finance, energy, or another technical field.

 

Licenses/Certifications

Preferred:     

  • Business Energy Professional (BEP), Certified Energy Procurement (CEP), Certified Energy Manager (CEM)

 

Direct Experience:

Required:      

  • Minimum of five (5) years energy-related experience, preferably in the energy management, gas marketing, natural gas/electric utility field or BEP or CEP certification and 3 years’ experience 

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA)

Required:      

  • Extremely organized, self-motivated/results driven, focused with the ability to learn, and able to prioritize work.  
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. 
  • Proficient in SAP CRB, ISU, Microsoft Office, energy related software and Internet applications. 
  • Good communication skills with the ability to relate well to team members.  Excellent judgment, tact and discretion in dealing with clients.  

 

Preferred:      

  • Working knowledge of INFOR CRM and Energy Cap software
