The Energy Trade and Risk Management (ETRM) Configurator/Systems Analyst is responsible for translating the Business requirements of the Functional Area (e.g., Financial, Front Office, Supply Chain, Risk, Settlements, etc.) into the ETRM system.  This includes all aspects of project work, on-going functional enhancements, troubleshooting, and ETRM operational changes.  An ETRM Configurator/Systems Analyst collaborates on all phases of the systems development life-cycle (SDLC) with a focus on the analysis, design, and development of configuration-based solutions.  Must continuously maintain and develop the necessary skillsets, both technical and analytical to enhance value-added business solutions and in keeping with the IT architecture.


Under minimal supervision, is responsible for all aspects of the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) in relation to ETRM configuration, development, and application management activities.


The successful candidate will have all of the requirements and preferred requirements listed below. Salary will be determined by the years of experience and skillset of the applicant.



Required:  Bachelor’s Degree in a technology, business, or other related field of study; from an accredited institution in accordance with TECO Energy’s education policy.


**Experience may be considered in lieu of education.**



Preferred:  Allegro specific ETRM professional configuration certification in a specific discipline (e.g. Natural Gas, Power, Sold &Liquid Fuels) preferred in addition to the requirements above.



Required:  Direct experience in systems analysis, design and development of configuration-based software. Prior hands-on Allegro ETRM configuration experience is desired along with direct work experience in systems analysis, design and development. 

In lieu of Allegro ETRM configuration experience, six (6) years or more of direct hands-on system support is required on one or more CTRM (Commodities Trading & Risk Management) software package for energy commodities such as crude oil, refined products, and liquid natural gas which provides real time volumetric and financial view of positions and risk.


Preferred:  Direct work experience with SQL and experience with report writing.




  • Working knowledge of business software applications and hardware technologies.  Stays current with IT industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Good verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Understands project plans and is able to clearly articulate their role, project goals, and timelines.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite. 
  • Comprehends technical design specifications and can demonstrate knowledge of development tools and .NET technologies in support of the Information Technology Architecture.


  • Proficient in report writing utilizing enterprise level tools (e.g. SQL Server Report Services, Crystal, Power BI)
  • Proficient in writing T-SQL queries and the use of stored procedures
  • Knowledge of web services technologies
  • Experience with interfaces between enterprise level systems using middleware technologies (e.g. ETL, SSIS, BizTalk)
