The  Corporate Applications Lead resides in the Business Innovation Solutions – IT and Corporate department within the IT&T organization and  provides oversight and direction to a team to ensure the efficient service delivery of technology solutions to Legal, Regulatory, Safety, Corporate Communications and Marketing, Security and Emergency Management.  Collaborates on all phases of the systems development life-cycle (SDLC) with a focus on the analysis, design, and development of solutions.    The  Corporate Applications Lead supports the Associate Functional Analysts and  oversees and provides strategic direction to AMS to ensure efficient service delivery to Enterprise business users.    Accountable to ensure business partner satisfaction through all aspects of service delivery including project work, enhancements, service requests and incidents.  Works under minimal supervision and may serve as a backup to the manager in a limited capacity.


1.     Assumes ownership of all Service Delivery tickets in functional area, partnering with AMS provider to:  (20%)
a.    Ensure application stability, data integrity, and policy alignment.
b.    Convey business context and priority to AMS provider, monitor progress, ensure defined SLAs are met.
c.    Monitor application service delivery to meet business needs of functional area.
d.    Ensure that the quality and timeliness of resolution for application issues and operational activities are met within service level agreements and within legal business expectation report on operational health to  IT leadership.
2.    Oversees projects and/or functional areas within the team and manages the day-to-day responsibilities   (10%)
3.    Contributes to the request and analysis phases of SDLC by assisting with documentation and estimates.  Participate in the design, development, and implementation phases of SDLC by producing the prescribed deliverables   (10%)
4.     Functions as a project team lead under the direction of their manager, senior team members, or project managers.   (10%)
5.    Works with business unit  to maintain knowledge of processes/functions relevant to projects and application support assignments, as well as maintains appropriate technical skills to troubleshoot system(s); uses understanding of system setup, interdependencies of data flow and interfaces to conduct root cause analysis and resolve problems.    (10%)
6.    Coordinate system changes by identifying system requirements, definition, testing, training and implementation.   (10%)
7.    Establishes regular business partner engagement to understand business environment and needs, provide consultation services of the existing applications capability, convey the operational health check.  Be point of contact for escalations.   (10%)
8.    Partners and effectively collaborates with other operational towers within IT (like Infrastructure, Security, and Service Integration) to ensure operational efficiency.  (10%)
9.    Demonstrates Company values through decisions and actions.  Promotes the Company’s safety culture to ensure a safe work environment. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.  (10%)


Direct Supervision:     Direct management of functional analysts
Indirect Supervision:           Oversee contractors and managed services support team


Key Internal:       Interacts with all levels of employees and departments throughout the TECO Energy companies.  Interactive engagement will require communication with individual contributors, middle management, and executive management.
Key External:      Responsible for building and maintaining external relationships with vendors, contractors, consultants, regulatory agencies, industry specialists, and other utility partners.


Required:    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering or related field
Preferred:     Master’s Degree in I.T. related field of study or Business with related I.T. undergraduate degree

Preferred:    ITIL v4 Foundation Certification. Scrum Master Certification, Agile Certification


Direct Experience 
Required:    Minimum of 6 years of work experience performing the Duties and Responsibilities of this position.  Minimum of 6 years of IT/Technical experience 
Preferred:    Two or more years of direct supervisory experience to a team of functional analysts  


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA) 
•    Strong experience with technology solutions in at least one business function such as Legal, Regulatory, Safety, Corporate Communications and Marketing, and Security and Emergency Management.
•    Experience partnering in an AMS model with demonstrated results of timely delivery of operational services meeting service level agreements.
•    Effective oral and written communication skills.
•    Demonstrated experience interfacing effectively and collaborating with internal employees,.
•    Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks appropriately, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
•    Must demonstrate effective decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
•    Knowledge of the software development process. 
•    Must demonstrate strong ethics, interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.


•    Knowledge of SAP solutions, SharePoint, Microsoft Office 365
•    Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement of AMS model
