What will you be doing if you are offered this position and accept?


The coordinator will oversee the testing and assessment programs in order to maximize the effectiveness of employee selection and development within the company.  Supports various assessment processes for HR and for operating management in all TECO Energy companies. Provides analysis of assessment performance to selecting managers; delivers feedback to assessment participants and guides participants in creating individual development plans. Also responsible for keeping abreast of current research, regulations, and professional guidelines pertaining to employment and selection laws.


Here are some of the major duties and responsibilities


  • Coordinates the administration and scoring of assessment instruments; conducts literary/empirical research to help develop and support the use of certain selection tools and ensure the psychometric quality of results.
  • Consults on internal and external survey needs; including the design, administration, and analysis of results.  Provides timely oral and written reports of results and demographic information to management.
  • Manages the design and maintenance of multiple computerized systems and databases for testing and assessment results; provides timely reports to management of appropriate information contained therein. 
  • Provides consultation to hiring managers and recruiters throughout the selection process, including dimension selection and job requirements.
  • Analyzes results from testing for selecting managers during consensus, offering consultation to the hiring manager regarding candidate’s strengths and developmental needs in accordance with the target position
  • Provides developmental feedback to candidates regarding test results. 
  • Trains supervisors and managers to conduct behavioral-based interviews via Selection for Excellence. 
  • Evaluates selection processes to identify areas in need of process improvements, which can include job analyses and testing validation studies.
  • Manages vendor relationships regarding current and new product offerings, product pricing changes and onsite inventory. 
  • Leads coordination of 360 development assessments and assists with projects to identify and evaluate new selection needs/tools.


The experience you must have before you can be considered




Required:  Minimum  Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or closely related field (Organizational development/design, Social Psychology, Psychometrics etc.) with emphasis on employee selection and development.

Preferred:             Master of Arts or Master of Business Administration and SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR



Required: Minimum 6 years’ experience in Human Resources with at least 4 years of selection and assessment experience. Experience in job/task analysis. Experience in internal consulting and providing individualized developmental feedback.

Preferred: Experience proctoring standardized tests. Experience working in Human Resources



These skills will help you stand out above the crowd


Strong ability to manipulate and analyze data using Excel and SPSS. Must be able to produce professional, high quality charts and other graphic material for reports and presentations. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft office suite including Word, Excel, Access and Power Point are required, including the ability to program Access databases. Must demonstrate excellent judgment, oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and administrative skills. Proven track record of an ability to use logic and common sense to solve problems independently and effectively respond to daily inquiries. Must communicate effectively while maintaining discretion and confidentially of assessment results. Must be detail oriented.       



Must be able to work occasional weekend and evening hours; travel to various service areas and cities to administer tests.
