This position pays between $85,330.00 to $113,773.00 and is based on skills, experience and education of the successful candidate.




  • Must be available for 24-hour call out.
  • Successful hire must reside within 60-minute response time to the St Pete Division Office (zip code 33713). Preferred to reside within Clearwater or St Petersburg.



The Division Manager II provides planning, organizing and team member leadership of an assigned Peoples Gas Division, ensuring that the vision, mission, and goals of the operation are aligned with Company objectives.  Primary job responsibilities include budgeting and overseeing the daily divisional operations for meter services and construction and maintenance of the natural gas distribution/transmission system.



  • Oversees Division team members involved in the daily operations of the distribution, service and leak survey fields, including the divisional meter activities and contractor services in the construction and maintenance of natural gas distribution/transmission services and mains and divisional emergency response activities.  Oversees the maintenance of the local Company vehicle fleet. 
  • Manages budgeting, remaining at/or below proposed budgets for O & M and Capital expenditures.
  • In the absence of a supervisor level at the respective division, will provide direct supervision, selection, training/development and motivation to team members in their performance of functional activities. 
  • Ensures proper line pressure throughout gas system and maintenance on all regulator stations and relief valves, and documentation of same.  Responsible for coordinating odorization related activities and procedures for operating location.
  • Ensures the completion of all required departmental documentation and related record keeping, including plant assets, construction and compliance records.
  • Maintains the integrity of our natural gas system through quality controls, such as annual leak surveys. Administers company annual leak survey activities for the operating location.  Ensures annual leak survey plan and survey results are up to date and documented.
  • Coordinates meter repair activities and administers FPSC approved annual Meter Sampling Plan, ensuring appropriate measuring and regulating reports are prepared.  Coordinates installation and maintenance of SCADA system and all other functions of equipment management.
  • Oversight and responsibility to assure that all appropriate compliance activities are completed within the correct time frames and documented to show such completion.
  • Responsible for physical assets such as buildings, material inventory, gas distribution/transmission system, and tools and equipment.
  • Ensures the safety culture and programs are properly administered and followed. Serves as the divisional safety example and leader.



Required: Valid High School Diploma or valid G.E.D.

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field, in accordance with TECO’s education policy.



Required: Valid Florida Driver’s License with a safe driving record


REQUIRED Experience 

Required: At least 10 years of related experience in progressively more complex leadership positions in energy delivery operations within a natural gas or electric utility.


***In lieu of some experience, a Bachelor’s degree and at least six (6) years of related experience as described above may be considered.


Supervisory Experience

Preferred: At least five (5) years of direct supervisory experience.




  • Demonstrated leadership, and critical thinking and decision-making skills, and the capability to take actions that meet the needs of the department and the company
  • Effective management of financial/budgetary, material, and personnel resources
  • Understanding of regulatory impact to natural gas or electric utility operations
  • Active listening, effective speaking and overall excellent communication skills in both one-on-one and group settings.


  • Knowledge of the geographical area
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
