The Supervisor-Generation is responsible in a line capacity to the Maintenance Manager - The supervisor generation(I&C/Electrical) responsibilities include day to day, supervision, coaching, and counseling of assigned personnel. The position is responsible for evaluating and assigning the resources needed to troubleshoot, repair, and work according to priority, availability, and risk, along with identifying and assigning necessary resources to maximize productivity, quality, and safety.  



1. Supervise, direct, and coach assigned I&C and Electrical personnel. Manage goal setting and performance review process for direct reports to maximize productivity, workmanship, safety, and personal development. Maintain a working knowledge of the current collective bargaining agreement. 
2. Ensure all safe work practices and safety programs are utilized and strictly adhered to. Investigate and take appropriate action on personal injuries, near misses, and safety suggestions.  
3. Manage and facilitate an on-going and comprehensive Improvement program.
4. Ensure Preventative Maintenance programs for the assigned area are kept current and maintained in a manner that maximizes equipment longevity and reliability.  
5. Work closely with engineering and other technical staff on technical details related to work plans, projects, maintenance methods/strategies, and equipment modifications. 
6. Coordinate with Training Dept. to ensure assigned personnel receive necessary skills training including training required for classification step progression. 
7. Develop, manage, and have accountability for budgets assigned to area of responsibility.
8. Manage personnel performance issues to include administration of the Positive Discipline program. 
9. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and policies for area of responsibility.
10. Plan, schedule, and coordinate work using best practices to ensure work is being performed in the most efficient and cost-effective method. 


Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related degree.
A bachelor’s degree may be considered in lieu of 5 years of comparable related experience.  


Required: Supervisor-Generation should have a minimum of 10 years related work experience in power generating facility or similar heavy industrial plant. Experience should be related to maintenance of industrial equipment, work management systems, and planning and scheduling maintenance work. 
Preferred: Experience working in a coal-fired generating facility with a broad knowledge of equipment and processes related to a coal-fired power plant. Experience in heavy industrial maintenance along with a working knowledge of planning and scheduling tools and software.

Preferred: 5 years supervising craft employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement working in a power plant or similar heavy industrial plant.


Required: Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proven experience in managing multiply tasks, projects, priorities, and initiatives in parallel. Demonstrated track record of setting goals, developing plans, communicating directions, and leading teams to achieve superior results. The ability to plan, schedule, coordinate, and execute numerous projects in a cost effective and efficient manner. Possess strong leadership qualities and team building skills. Work experience with industrial safety and environmental programs. Experience with and working knowledge of work management systems.        
Preferred: Performance management skills. Experience supervising teams of craft employees that work under a collective bargaining agreement. Experience working with scheduling software such as Primavera or Microsoft Project and an understanding of scheduling concepts and theory.


This Position is located at a power plant located in central Florida and the incumbent will be exposed to the ambient conditions and warmer indoor plant conditions.  Proper Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required at the power plant site.  Overtime, off-shift, and weekend work is required.



This position requires extended periods of either sitting or standing/walking.  Ladders and stairs will need to be climbed for various maintenance tasks and the frequency of climbing and descending on the area of the plant which the person is working and the particular needs of the task on any given day.  Examples of the physical requirements may include: 

• Walking up or down numerous flights of stairs
• Climb and descend from ladders
• Communicate verbally and in writing with a need to be able to hear both speech (radio or face-to-face) and alarms
• Ability to perform physical work while bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds, and/or carrying up to 20 pounds
