The Maintenance Specialist – Predictive Monitoring is responsible for the development, execution and
continuous improvement of the equipment condition monitoring plan for facility assets. This position will
utilize predictive technologies (infrared scan, ultrasonic, vibration, motor current analysis and others) to
measure the condition of Tampa Electric assets as prescribed by plant and fleetwide monitoring plans and
will utilize this data to develop recommendations for plant operation and maintenance.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Utilize predictive maintenance technologies (infrared scan, ultrasonic, vibration, motor current
analysis, ultrasonic thickness gauge and others) to identify and track the progression of
equipment failure. (20%)
2. Collect, maintain, and analyze mechanical asset data supporting the engineering, maintenance,
operations and asset management functions including mechanical performance monitoring and
modeling, precision alignment, equipment lubrication and other industry best practices. (20%)
3. Develop, implement and maintain mechanical asset maintenance strategies (asset condition
monitoring, capital improvements, operational limits, etc.) for mechanical assets. (20%)
4. Under the direction of Engineering, run mechanical and thermodynamic performance modeling.
(10%)
5. Work with equipment owners and subject matter experts to ensure the implementation and
monitoring mechanical assets and develop proactive recommendations for changes to equipment
maintenance strategy (equipment maintenance, redesign, operational limits, additional
monitoring). (10%)
6. Analyze and maintain reporting on the performance of mechanical assets, including malfunctions
or failure of equipment and make recommendations for mitigation. (10%)
7. Support the engineering, maintenance, operation and asset management functions of mechanical
assets as needed. (5%)
8. Assisting with troubleshooting of mechanical system problems. Take part as on-call technical
support for troubleshooting of mechanical system problems as required. (5%)
