POSITION CONCEPT:

Coordinate turn-key installations, service and product availability for customers, service and product availability for customers through third-party partnerships.  Provides technical/professional assistance to Company personnel, customers, contractors, municipal inspectors and plumbers.

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

CONSTRUCTION COORDINATOR

  1. Coordinates and reviews the installation of both residential and commercial gas services by working with intercompany personnel, builders, contractors, dealers, customers and attend weekly contractor meetings.
  2. Maintains the highest levels of customer satisfaction through serving as the main point of contact for customers, builders, plumbers and contractors.
  3. Educates contractors on the installation of gas piping and being in compliance with all rules and regulations.
  4. Develops isometric drawings and piping estimates for meter relocate planning for in-house residential customers.
  5. Works closely with TECO Partners to provide technical assistance on their new service leads.
  6. Update Sharepoint site as needed.
  7. Meets with developers on site to coordinate the gas main installation for new subdivisions and monitor the process of in-house contractors.
  8. Meets with residential customers on complex meter relocations.
  9. Review and resolve customer complaints.
  10. Work with contractors, plumbers and builders to resolve utility conflicts or any other unforeseen obstacles during the gas installation process.
  11. Be familiar with paying contractor invoices by creating SESs.
  12. Be familiar with the upload of as-builts to GIS.
  13. GPS tracking/subject matter expert
  14. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.


 

EDUCATION, (LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS):

Required:     High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

 

Licenses/Certifications

Required:     Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record; a CDL may be required with certain positions/assignments.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Required: Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a PGS Senior Utility Technician; or a minimum of five (5) years of natural gas utility experience performing the same duties and responsibilities of this position.  Experience must consist of progressively more complex work assignments and utilizing leadership skills in providing guidance and assessment of team members work processes.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

RequiredA complete knowledge of piping design and layout for gas services.  Knowledge of mapping systems, such as Utility Center.  Ability to read and interpret blue prints.  Ability to develop isometric drawings.  Mechanical ability and/or aptitude to assist with gas installations.  Good interpersonal skills.

 

Preferred: Knowledge of all applicable gas codes and safety regulations.

 


WORK CONDITIONS:

Must be able to respond to gas emergencies and/or business needs within divisional guidelines and work outdoors for extended periods of time.  Ability to work after hours and weekends to attend industry/trade shows and/or handle gas emergencies.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to independently drive a motor vehicle for approximately four (4) hours in an eight (8) hour shift.
  • Must be able to independently enter and/or exit a motor vehicle approximately 25 times in an eight (8) hour shift.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and/or crouch approximately thirty (30) times in an eight (8) hour shift.
  • Must be able to walk approximately two (2) miles in an eight (8) hour shift.
  • Must be able to stand at least four (4) hours in an eight (8) hour shift.
  • Must be able to endure 90+ degree heat for five (5) hours in a day during summer months.
  • Must be able to concentrate on details for an entire eight (8) hour shift.
  • Must be able to smell gas odorant in normal concentrations.

The successful applicant will be required to take and pass a Baseline Medical Examination as part of the pre-employment screening once an offer has been accepted.
