This position will be open to internal and external applicants and will close on Tuesday August 27th 2019. 

This position pays between $60,014.00 to $75,018.00 and is based on skills, experience and education of the successful candidate.

 

 

POSITION CONCEPT

Responsible for front and back office tasks to support Gas Supply including but not limited to: administration of monthly and daily nominations, confirmations, scheduling, reconciliation of interstate pipeline transactions, contract administration, billing, invoicing, regulatory compliance, and volume settlements. Supports the seasonal and annual planning of the department. 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Administers and maintains all gas purchases, sales, hedging, and storage contracts. Maintain existing agreements for changes, updates, and terminations.
  2. Maintain the Gas Management System from contract creation through the billing and closing process. 
  3. Coordinates internal communication of gas purchases to gas supply and other internal departments. 
  4. Coordinates with internal and external personnel for verification and reconciliation of natural gas invoices including billing verification of quantities and prices.  Resolves invoice/billing discrepancies. Verifies and reconciles natural gas volumes nominated on interstate pipelines for system supply and transportation.
  5. Monitors storage injection and withdrawal rights, maintains inventory balances for system supply, and revenue opportunities.
  6. Performs daily scheduling of natural gas necessary to meet the requirements of the Company’s transmission and distribution. Nominates, schedules, and confirms supplies for system supply and transportation customers’ nominations on and off NMGC’s natural gas pipelines on a daily and monthly basis.
  7. Performs volume settlement activities such as: Reconciling OBAs and Pipeline Invoices, Processes Imbalance Statements, Prior Period Adjustments, Access Forms, and Transportation Amendments.
  8. Performs daily monitoring and responses to upstream pipeline’s notices such as: maintenance, operational flow orders, and alert days.
  9. Maintains knowledge of interstate pipeline systems to schedule, confirm, and monitor upstream pipeline information.
  10.  Maintains SOX compliance and reporting requirements.

Key External:         Interstate Pipelines; Transportation Customers; Natural Gas Suppliers/Marketers/Producers

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education

Required:     Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred:    Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting.

 

Licenses/Certifications

Required:     Depending upon position and/or geographic location, may be required to possess a valid driver's license and meet the acceptable driving record requirements of the Company.

Related Experience

Preferred:    Minimum of two years of direct work experience performing the Duties & Responsibilities of this position is preferred.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA)

Required:     Must be able to work in a high stress environment with rapidly changing priorities and manage time effectively.  Must be able to meet inflexible deadlines. Advanced written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required. Ability to effectively present information in written and verbal format to other team members. Must possess mathematical aptitude. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Working knowledge of computer systems and competence in spreadsheet and word processing software.  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

 

Preferred:    Knowledge of Gas Industries Standards Board (GISB) or North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB) standards and procedures.  Experience in the natural gas industry.  Working knowledge of NMGC’s Gas Management System.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work schedule will be based on shift work including evening on-call outside of scheduled hours that may change from time to time. May be required to travel inside and outside of state.
