The Construction Coordinator will coordinate turn-key installations, service and product availability for customers, service, and product availability for customers through third-party partnerships. Provides technical/professional assistance to Company personnel, customers, contractors, municipal inspectors, and plumbers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates and reviews the installation of both residential and commrercial gas services by working with intercompany personnel, builders, contractors, dealers, customers and attend weekly contractor meetings
- Educates contractors on the installation of gas piping and being in compliance with all rules and regulations. Meets with developers on site to coordinate the gas main installation for new subdivisions and monitor the process of in-house contractors
- Meets with residential customers on complex meter relocations, work with contractors, plumbers, and builders to resolve any unforeseen obstacles during the gas installation process
- Develops isometric drawings and piping estimates for meter relocate planning for residential and commercial customers
- Works closely with TECO Partners to provide technical assistance on their new service leads
- Maintains the highest levels of customer satisfaction through serving as the main point of contact for customers, builders, plumbers, and contractors
- Reviews and resolves customer complaints
- Create SESs (Service Entry Sheets), uploading as-builts to GIS (Geographic Information System), and update Distribution Design & Construction SharePoint site as needed. GPS (Global Position Satellite) work assignment as needed
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Required: High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
EXPERIENCE
Required: Must have a minimum of 5 years of natural gas utility or similar utility construction experience performing the same duties and responsibilities of this position. Experience must consist of complex work assignments such as a project management and/or construction coordination services. Experience working with contractors, engineers, and field crews.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Required: Knowledge and experience in construction services, distribution and/or transmission gas systems with regard to pipe design, standards, and requirements for gas services. Meter, sizing and EFV (Excess Flow Valve) knowledge. Knowledge of mapping systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, and construction as-built documents. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred: Knowledge of all applicable gas codes and safety regulations
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to respond to business needs within divisional guidelines and work outdoors for extended periods of time. Ability to work after hours and weekends to attend industry/trade shows.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to independently drive a motor vehicle for approximately four (4) hours in an eight (8) hour shift
- Must be able to independently enter and/or exit a motor vehicle approximately 25 times in an eight (8) hour shift
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and/or crouch approximately thirty (30) times in an eight (8) hour shift
- Must be able to walk approximately two (2) miles in an eight (8) hour shift
- Must be able to stand at least four (4) hours in an eight (8) hour shift
- Must be able to endure 90+ degree heat for five (5) hours in a day during summer months
- Must be able to concentrate on details for an entire eight (8) hour shift
- Must be able to smell gas odorant in normal concentrations
