Acquisitions Rep 

 

POSITION CONCEPT 
Under general supervision, supports the role of contract negotiation and execution of contracts related to the purchase and sale of gas as directed for the NMGC systems.  This position is the primary day to day interface between NMGC and the gas supply and gas transportation marketplace.  

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (D&R)
1.    Prepares gas contracts such as: purchase, transportation, exchange, processing and sales, from implementation through termination.
2.    Determines and maintains information, both electronically and manually, related to assigned contracts including general contract data, pricing, well information, production related taxes and royalties, division of interest, rates and tariffs, receipt and delivery points, balances, and other account activity.
3.    Prepares and reviews reports including gas balance statements, periodic and ad hoc reports from various information systems on the results of gas transactions for internal users, customers, governmental, and other regulatory agencies.
4.    Analyzes, interprets, and provides detailed contract information to a wide variety of users to support decision making, accounting treatments, supply planning, litigation support, and other activities.
5.    Provides support to Sr Representative regarding consulting with field operations, reservoir engineering, gas accounting, strategic and tactical planning, rates and regulatory and legal affairs regarding contractual obligations.
6.    Assists in negotiations of a broad scope of contract terms with gas producers, processors, and transporters within established parameters.
7.    Performs as staff support for other Contract Management, Gas Acquisitions, Transportation Services or other GMS representatives regarding contracts.
8.    Participates in interpretation of agreement provisions and translation of provisions into operational requirements for various departments.

Key External:         Consultants (Attorneys, etc.), Transportation Customers, Suppliers, Vendors, Pipelines.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education 
Required:        Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
Preferred:          Advanced degree is preferred.

 

Licenses/Certifications 
Required:    Depending upon position and/or geographic location, may be required to possess a valid driver's license and meet the acceptable driving record requirements of the Company.

 

EXPERIENCE  
Required:    Minimum of 1 year of direct work experience performing Duties & Responsibilities applicable to this position. 
Preferred:     Minimum of 2 years of direct work experience in gas or electric operations, commodity purchasing, scheduling, administration, or planning. 

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA) 
Required:    Ability to interpret and translate the provisions of contracts into operational requirements and monitor to ensure compliance with these provisions.  Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with customers, multi-departmental personnel, and others. Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills.
 

WORKING CONDITIONS 
Office environment.  Requires working overtime, weekends, and holidays. Occasional travel is required.

 

Senior Acquisitions Rep

 

POSITION CONCEPT 
Independently negotiates for and executes contracts related to the purchase and sale of gas as directed for the NMGC systems.  This position is the primary day to day interface between NMGC and the gas supply and gas transportation marketplace.  

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (D&R)
1.    Manages gas contracts such as: purchase, transportation, exchange, processing and sales, from implementation through termination.
2.    Determines and maintains information, both electronically and manually, related to assigned contracts including general contract data, pricing, well information, production related taxes and royalties, division of interest, rates and tariffs, receipt and delivery points, balances, and other account activity.

6.    Initiates negotiations of a broad scope of contract terms with gas producers, processors, and transporters within established parameters.
7.    Analyzes and develops the resolution of contractual disputes by defining issues to be addressed and preparing recommended solutions for presentation to other parties to the contract.
8.    Performs as staff support for other Contract Management, Gas Acquisitions, Transportation Services or other GMS representatives on complex negotiations involving several contract types.
9.    Interprets agreement provisions and translates provisions into operational requirements for various departments.
10.    Coordinates efforts of various groups by obtaining the information necessary to prepare contracts and agreements.
